Q: “What kind of dress should I wear with high heels for the day time? Long, short, midi? What would be the most appropriate?”

- Instagram user@sieradear

A: It’s summer and we want to look girly and not just for a night out. Why not throw on a dress and some heels and head for a lunch date or coffee chat with your girls and feel like you’re not trying to overdress for the occasion? I would suggest a shift dress for daytime with heels! Midi length is appropriate at all times and works perfectly to achieve a casual yet girly look. Shift dresses are also my first choice for daytime with heels based on the fact that they are not form fitting! It gives off a different vibe than all other dresses! To complete your look, throw in a playful stack of bracelets and add a pop of color with your purse and you should be on your way… girls have more fun in heels anyway no matter if it’s day or night.

xoxo, Kiara

Take a page from the Sookie Stackhouse style archives, and get girly in pretty prints, dainty fabrics, and sweet sundresses. Then add simple, fuss-free accessories and feminine flats, because when you spend as much time running for your life as this Bon Temps beauty, high heels will only slow you down. Beauty Tip Tuesday: Make Any Lipstick Matte

Beauty | 18 June 2013

by

Our makeup artist Sarah is sharing her tips for making all of our models look flawless for their closeups! Today she’s showing us how to make any lipstick matte using our NYX Studio Finishing Powder and the fab summer lip color, Citrine by NYX Black Label. You can use any of your favorite lipsticks under the finishing powder.

MatteLips

Step 1: Apply your fav lipstick.
Step 2: Pour small amount of translucent powder in the lid of the container. Choose a fluffy brush that you don’t mind getting lipstick on. Sarah prefers a flat precision brush. Swirl and tap some of the excess powder off.
Step 3: Working from the middle of the lip and outward, lightly tap the powdered brush and see the shine disappear to matte!
