MusicKing of Country: Kenny Chesney

I’m a sucker for a cute cowboy.

Long have I heard of the decade’s leading country boy, Kenny Chesney, but it wasn’t until recently that I really got a taste of this down-home musical genius.

Released in September of 2010, Kenny’s newest album, “Hemingway’s Whiskey” began twining across the radio with his first single “Boys of Fall.” Soon after, his next single “Somewhere With You” came in full force with its sadly romantic lyrics and upbeat guitar riffs. If you’ve heard this song, ladies, you know what I mean!

Needless to say, I ran out to buy the first pop country album I own (minus the Lady Antebellum disc my pop sent me). Mixed in with my collection of folk, bluegrass and rock music, the album offers a good clean country feel with a summer’s day sort of feel to it.

Check out this acoustic version of “Somewhere with You” and enjoy!

What are your favorite Kenny Chesney songs?
Please share, I think I’m in love!

FashionLaurie’s Loves: End of the Rainbow

Now I know St. Patty’s Day is still a few weeks away, but if you want THE perfect dress for this Irish occasion, then you’d better snatch up the Aryn K Full Spectrum Silk White Dress before the leprechauns snatch it away!

The second we saw got this at the LuLu*s warehouse, we were all drooling. First off, it’s made of silk and feels incredibly delicious and heavenly (get it?) against your skin. Add some Rainbow Brite stripes that scream party until dawn/summer barbecue/spring wedding. Plus, it has a racerback cut in the back, which I always think is a super-flattering fit on almost everybody.

And of course, for every rainbow there’s said to be a pot of gold at the end.

Luckily, at LuLu*s we just can’t disappoint. Here are my recent favorite glittering treasures:

The Not Rated South Beach Gold Glitzy Get on Board Flats are the perfect combination of casual and dressy, the ideal choice for when you need to go somewhere fancy but don’t want the pain of high heels for ten hours. And while they’re not all gold, the Bobolink Turquoise Wrap Bracelet is a good option to have on hand — it can go with almost any outfit AND it can also serve as a cool anklet or necklace. Finally, check out the lock on the Round the Lock Carnation Pink Purse. It reminds me of an old-fashioned sink handle or some cool wheel on a ship. Tote this bag on a first date if you need a conversation-starter.

So there ya go! Slick on some green eye shadow to avoid a pinch and get ready for the luck o’ the Irish to come your way!

FashionMilan Fashion Week: Gucci’s 90th Anniversary Show Inspired by the 70′s and Florence and the Machine

This fall is ALL about COLOR and the 70′s! For once the fall shows aren’t an army of black clad ladies.

Gucci‘s 90th anniversary show referenced the 70′s and Florence and the Machine. Silhouette, cut, and drape were all 70′s but it was the maxi dresses at the end that screamed Florence!

The 70′s are woven into so many shows for fall 2011, that this 70′s bug must be contagious! However, based on what I just saw, Gucci’s reign on the fashion industry as well as on color trends will continue seamlessly into fall despite the lack of “originality”.

Take a look at a few of my favorite looks from the show below:

CelebrityStyle Watch: Kate Middleton

England has been taken over by the daily goings on of the royal family. Why? Because Prince William has become engaged to his long time girlfiriend and commoner Kate Middleton. Almost as if by accident Kate Middleton has become a royal style icon, replacing the world’s fascination with Princess Diana, William’s mother. Part of Kate’s charm is for having an attainable style that many can re-create.

Kate is seen as a fashionably relatable celebrity, but she takes great pride in her wild and unique hat collection. Everyone is wondering if Kate will have a style similar to Princess Diana, but she seems to be going in a fashionable direction of her own. She loves wearing white and she has adopted the ideology that less is more, which is clearly evident with her natural makeup and muted tones she wears. She wears dresses that are flattering to her tall and slender phisique and loves to tuck her jeans into her boots to accentuate the elongated appeal of her legs.

When I was looking at pictures of the fashion icon in waiting, I saw that many of her styles were similar to what we have here at Lulu*s!

Here are a few options from Lulu*s so you can attain the royal beauty queen look that Kate perfectly portrays:

I can hardly wait to see what her wedding dress will look like!
What do you think about Kate’s lovely and natural style?
