FashionLulu*s Getaway: How to Pack for Summer Vacation!

Summer officially begins on June 21st and I can sense all of the vacations that are about to occur! Whether it is for a weekend, a week, or a month (jealous!), a girl must be prepared for any trip! I don’t know about you, but my great vacation is hugely affected by my amazing wardrobe and how well I packed it all into my suitcase. A girl can’t forget anything if she wants to get the most out of her trip, am I right?!
I spent quite some time picking out some of the best vacation attire from Lulu*s and I hope you girls enjoy:

Traveling Outfit:

It is very important to be comfortable when you are traveling so you are nice and relaxed once you reach your destination. That is why I chose this simple tank paired with some cotton shorts and comfy sandals!

Sightseeing:

When you are sightseeing, the most important thing to remember is to wear comfortable shoes! I can’t even tell you how many times my feet have suffered while I am touring just so my outfit looks complete. It is also important to be prepared for all kinds of weather (depending on where you are) so it is essential to bring a sweater, or even a change of clothes in some situations.

Lunch:

Lunches tend to be more casual than dinners, so just let loose and be comfy. Plus, you’re on vacation, right? Dresses are my favorite thing to wear when I am going out to lunch, so I chose some of my favorites!

Dinner:

Now you can get all dolled up! A classy look is always associated with any dinner attire. If you are out with the boyfriend or with the parents, it is essential to look your best. Don’t forget your matching handbag and accessories, ladies!

A Night Out:
This is where you can release all inhibitions and wear whatever you want. From crazy tall heels, to sparkly fab makeup, the sky is the limit! Shake what your mama gave you on the dance floor!

Tip: What will save you so much time is to plan each outfit as if you are getting dressed for that entire day. This is what I do every time I pack and it makes it so I almost never forget anything!

Do you gals have any fun summer trips approaching?
xoxo

GeneralMust See TV: The Nail Files

Attention ladies! You still have time to set your DVR for the 10 o’clock premiere of TV Guide Network’s new reality show, The Nail Files. Our former makeup artist, Nyala, now works for TV Guide and clued us in on this wild new slice of beauty parlor reality.

Katie Cazorla is a former stand-up comedian and actress-turned-luxury nail salon owner in Los Angeles, with a flamboyant charm like no other. How would she describe her show? “I call it Tori & Dean meets Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D-List meets Jonathan Antin’s Blow Out,’’ said Cazorla. “You’ve got the romance of the couple, the one-woman show and someone who’s in the beauty industry who’s a little sporadic.’’ Intrigued? You can tune in tonight at 10 pm, or read more at the Miami Herald.

Will you ladies be tuning in to check out the shenanigans?

GeneralGreen or Extreme? Taking Eco Awareness to a Whole New Level

We’ve all heard the phrase “going green” about a billion times by now, as more and more companies, groups, and individuals are becoming concerned with keeping our planet from going haywire in the next few decades.
As lazy as I often am, I do have my very own recycling can at home, and my roommate and I try to water only at night. Maybe not much, but it’s a start. Some people, however, have taken this new trend above and beyond the call of duty.

Check out some really interesting “green” creations below.

Jewelry

Artist Colleen Jordan makes the wearable planters you see on the bottom left. “Why should your plants stay at home?” she asks. “They help clean the air you breathe, are beautiful, and create a wonderful conversation starter.” * Reykjavik artist Hafsteinn Juliusson created the two rings on the models as “an experiment in drawing nature toward man, as nature being the presupposition of life.” * Shiva Master Hanaoka is the genius behind such creations as the cufflinks above and the moccasins below.

Bathroom & Booties

La Chanh Nguyen is the brains of this insanely awesome moss bath mat, which is watered from the water dripping off you after a bath or shower. Why not throw in some awesome grass slippers while you’re at it?

 Furniture

How about a grass bed? This insane(ly awesome) bed is a creation of Euraflora, a plant exhibition held in Genoa, Italy. Not in the mood for a nap? How about relaxing in the back yard with a glass of lemonade on your grass couch? (Psst. You can actually build one of these yourself. Check out the how-to.) Perhaps a lawn chaise is more your style, or maybe a foot stool? Either way, you’re pretty much covered in the grass furniture department.

So what do you guys think about some of these creations? Are they really cool or just plain crazy? How far is too far, or can we not get green enough?

BeautyJustin Bieber’s Fragrance, SOMEDAY: Would YOU Wear it?

It’s not every day that the ultimate in young pop superstars comes out with a sensitive new fragrance; it’s SOMEDAY by Justin Bieber!
“SOMEDAY by Justin Bieber is more than just a fragrance: it’s energy with a state-of-mind that inspires. It is a personal gift straight from his heart, giving fans a chance to get one step closer to Justin.”
The scent is fresh and floral, and completely age appropriate for the younger crowd. I imagine you could keep it in your gym locker for a dab of clean-smelling essence after a long hour of field hockey. Just make sure your girlfriends don’t steal it all!
Hearts are indeed abounding, not only in the colorful bottle design, but with all of the profits going to charities like Make-A-Wish Foundation and Pencils of Promise, Justin seems to be carrying a very big heart beneath that black pleather jacket. (Not such a bad place for you or your little sis to vicariously cuddle up to.)
With so many fine reasons to wear this fragrance, I’d like to leave it up to our readers.
Will YOU be wearing SOMEDAY?
