BeautyBeauty Trend: Triangle Eyeshadow

Have you heard of triange eye makeup?

This intriguing new beauty trend, in which makeup is applied to the inner corner of the eyes and all the way up the brow, has been showing up in New York fashion shows as a hot new high fashion look.
As a result of its dramatic effect, this is not a typical beauty trend that you would wear to the office, but it is a great choice if you are going out dancing with the girls! What I love most about this beauty trend is its dramatic and structured 3-D effect that is sure to catch attention all on its own, without too many accessories or other makeup.

Here are some tips if you want to experiment with this trend:
1.With an eye shadow of choice, draw a triangle from your eyelid to your brow bone. An easy way to do this is hold the stick of your brush vertically from the inner corner of your eye to where your eyebrow starts. This ensures you getting your starting point straight so everything looks symmetrical. If you want to go for a more natural appeal, then apply neutral tones. If you want your eyes to be big and bold, choose darker shades for that dramatic effect.
2. You want to be sure to apply shadow underneath eye as well, just under the waterline.
3. Next, go over your eyelid with a lighter shade of eye shadow to bring everything together.
4. Thinly go over both lash lines with your choice of eyeliner, and then follow with mascara.
5. Now pair the look with your sassiest heels and you are ready for a night out on the town!

Lady Gaga has been a fan of this trend quite some time before I started to see it on the runway. Trend-setter extraordinaire, Gaga never ceases to amaze me…

CelebrityMTV Movie Awards: Best and Worst Dressed

Even more than watching award shows and other celeb events on TV, I love reading about them online the next day and seeing what everybody thought about the clothes and outfits. (Isn’t that why most of us watch them anyway?) This year’s MTV Movie Awards, held on Sunday, June 5 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, were no disappointment. In fact, I think I enjoyed these get-ups more so than most other award shows of late.
So, after much consideration of all the glamorous gals and gowns, here are my votes:
Best Dressed
Usually Kristen Stewart can be a bit much, but here is looks youthful, classy, and elegant. I’m so glad Emma Stone went back to red — she is just plan gorgeous!
Worst Dressed
Not really sure what Amanda Bynes was thinking here. However, she does get props for creative shoes. And while I love Blake Lively, I feel like this ensemble really just made her look frumpy.
On the Fence
Liz Lee and Jessica Szohr both have some really interesting outfits here. From blue bangs to paisley all over, I’m not sure if I love them or hate them. What do you think?
In case you also care about more than what they were wearing, here is a list of some of this year’s winners:
Best Movie:  The Twilight Saga:  Eclipse
Best Female Performance:  Kristen Stewart, The Twilight Saga:  Eclipse
Best Male Performance:  Robert Pattinson, The Twilight Saga:  Eclipse
