CelebrityMeet Lady Gaga’s Li’l in Teen Vogue

You may not recognize this pretty, young face yet, but I’m sure you all know her older sister, Stefani; or as she’s known to the rest of us, the Fame Monster herself, Lady Gaga.

Nineteen-year-old Natali Germanotta graces the pages of this month’s issue of Teen Vogue, and she’s giving us a little glimpse into the superstar sibling lifestyle.

A student at Parsons The New School for Design, Natali is chasing her own fashion dreams, and is already signed on to design the costumes for an off-Broadway show, as well as a rumored fashion line in collaboration with Gaga, or “Stefi” as she calls her. Check out the family photo from Natali’s high school graduation, below, where she rocks a gown that she designed herself. Note the cap on the shoulder…definitely a little Gaga in there…

Natali’s cameo in Gaga’s “Telephone” video was easy to miss, but die hard “little monsters” may have caught a glimpse of her walking the purple carpet alongside her famous sister at the CFDAs. Wouldn’t you just love to sneak a peek at the photos on the mantel of the Germanotta house?

Wondering how Natali feels about her sister’s avant-garde wardrobe? Read the full article at Teen Vogue’s website, or do it the old fashioned way and pick it up in print!

FashionArt Inspired Fashion by Jen of Jenloveskev: Wayne Thiebaud

Hi Friends, it’s Jen again. September is sure going out with a bang here in New England; it was 85 degrees yesterday! As much as I want cool fall weather, I am trying to enjoy the warmth while it’s still here. So, for this month’s Art Inspired Fashion post I chose this cute, colorful and painterly piece by Wayne Thiebaud.

Thiebaud was know for his use of heavy pigment and exaggerated colors to depict his subjects. I love his paintings. They have such a retro feel to them.

I wanted play off the chocolate, mint green and coral color in the ice cream. I think the outfit came out perfect to represent the sweet, carefree vibe the painting has.
This Tulle top has the cutest eyelet detail, and is the most amazing mint green color. Pair that with this BB Dakota skirt and it is a match made in heaven. Ice cream heaven that is.
Now, if only I had an ice cream cone in my hand. Then I would be one happy girl!
See you next month!

FashionBlogger’s Night Out in New York City!

During fashion week, LuLu*s was asked to participate in an exciting event, Blogger’s Night Out! We were invited by an amazing group of bloggers who put together quite an night out for all the bloggers in the New York area for Fashion Week! Seeing as bloggers are such a big part of  the fashion community they decided to throw an event where bloggers and brands could mingle and have a night all their own!

Held a beautiful Pranna restaurant on Madison Avenue in NYC, this was one swanky event! Low lighting, amazing cocktails and scrumptious food made the night so memorable and fun!

Some of the organizers decked out in LuLu*s dresses and shoes! These ladies were so professional and put together, what a lovely group!

At the event, we set  up out own LuLu*s lounge where you could come on over and chat with us, spin the wheel to win a fabulous prize item from our rack or even win a git card! So many stylish ladies and excited party-goers!

A sample of some of the beautiful pieces that we had to offer! Animal prints, brights and lace is just a portion of what we had available to win!

So many good shoes! We were so excited to bring some of our cutest pieces to NYC!

One of the many girls who came by to spin the wheel!

Tieka from Selective Potential joined us and took her chances on the spinning wheel!

Cute ladies all decked out and ready to party!

Andrea from Blonde Bedhead and Tieka, looking adorable!

Cristina from Trop Rogue came out to join the fun as well!

It was so much fun to mingle and hang out with so many amazing bloggers! Thanks again to the girls from Blogger’s Night Out as well as Pranna for hosting such an amazing event! We were so happy to participate!

MusicFresh Fall Albums

With so many great albums being released this fall, I just had to give a little shout out to what I think is a more than healthy mix of Rap, Pop, R&B, Indie and Country music.

September 20: In case you missed it, sophomore pop star Demi Lovato released her third album Unbroken, while senior songstressTori Amos released what promises to be another riveting Tori album: Night of Hunters!

October 4: If you are fan of the great Mary J. Blige, then you are in luck! The star will be releasing My Life II . . . the Journey Continues, seventeen years after the original LP, My Life, was born.

Indie kids delight, because the newest by Feist (yes!) entitled Metals will be arriving in stores at the same time.

clockwise from top left: Drake, Tori Amos, Demi Lovato and Bjork.

October 11: This may be the biggest musical day of fall with everyone’s favorite Icelander, Bjork, coming out with her slightly delayed album Biophilia. Look out for all of the custom apps for this one; Bjork has had a team of artists and programmers working to create a full-on experience.

The same day boasts the first full-length album by American Idol star, Lauren Alaina (remember Lauren?) AND Ryan Adams will be coming out with his newest, Ashes and Fire

clockwise from top left: Feist, Lauren Alaina, Ryan Adams, Mary J. Blige

October 24: After Drake’s amazing debut, Thank Me Later, released just over a year ago, he’s coming back with another Rap-meets-R&B like only Drake can do entitled Take Care.

Oh, we will Drake. You and your friends just keep feeding us with good music and we will be well taken care of indeed! Let me leave you with the title track from Ryan Adams’ anxiously-awaited collection:
