DIYHappy Hour: Star-Spangled Spritzer

One of the best parts of summer is the outdoor parties, and no sunny soirée would be complete without something yummy to sip on! If you’re throwing a 4th of July bash, our Star-Spangled Spritzer belongs on your guest list! This refreshing cocktail not only tastes amazing but will wow your guests with its festive presentation. Spritzers can be made with really any fruit your heart desires, but we wanted to take advantage of the summer’s delicious berry harvest with this patriotically-themed cocktail. We also added a tiny splash of Limoncello for a tart, citrusy kick, but you can add in any liqueur that suits your preference! Read below for the how-to on this party pleaser!

Directions:

-Slice your Granny Smith apple into thin slices. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, carefully press the apple slices into star shapes.

-Add crushed ice to the bottom of a glass and layer your raspberries, blueberries, and star-shaped apple slices on top.

-Pour equal parts white wine and sparkling wine or Champagne over the ice, then top with a splash of Limoncello (or your favorite liqueur).

-Give it a gentle stir, and garnish with a few more fruits if you’d like!

Note: You can easily make a big pitcher of this ahead of time and have your guests serve themselves! Just mix equal parts white wine and sparkling wine, a healthy splash of Limoncello, and prepared fruits together in a pitcher or punch bowl. Yum!

If you prefer an alcohol-free version, just swap in flavored seltzer water or your favorite clear soda for a delicious mocktail!

DIYHappy Hour: Watermelon Mint Margaritas with Sivan Ayla

Happy Hour: Watermelon Mint Margaritas with Sivan Ayla

In honor of National Tequila Day, we’ve teamed up with one of our fave influencers, Sivan Ayla, to bring you the ultimate tequila cocktail: Watermelon Mint Margaritas! Read below to get her how-to on this perfect summer beverage.

Happy Hour: Watermelon Mint Margaritas with Sivan Ayla

Summer is officially here! I feel like I wait all year for this season because it means permanent tans, rosé without guilt, and easy outfit choices. And of course, cocktails for absolutely NO reason! I had to make that part clear since I invited my friend and lifestyle blogger Devon Rachel over on a Tuesday for some margaritas. Then again, Devon is probably the only girl I know that would be down for some impromptu cocktail-ing (knew I liked her for a reason!).

With temps already hitting triple digits here in the Valley, a refreshing, COLD drink is actually pretty necessary. Nothing sounds more refreshing to me than watermelon, cucumber, and mint. Am I right? So why not add a little tequila, line that rim with some tajin or salt, and there you go!
Now I have to be honest, when Devon and I first attempted to make this (as you’ll see in the video below), I added 6oz of tequila!!! Not sure how I got the number so wrong, but between the strength of the alcohol and the supreme saltiness on the rim, we were anything but graceful while taking our first sips. However, I promise you we gave it another shot with the correct ratios and it was beyond yummy. For the full recipe and video tutorial, scroll down.
