FashionDay Dreamer: Steven Meisel Catches Lily Donaldson, Gemma Ward & Caroline Trentini Doing Their Laundry!

If you’ve ever spent some time trudging all your dirty clothes through the heat, rain, hail, or snow to the laundromat then the chances that you were daydreaming away as your clothes were on the spin cycle are pretty high.

When I lived in Brooklyn there were tons of laundromat’s to choose from but I always chose the one’s where I could have some peace and quiet. That being said, when I happened on this editorial I found it instantly entertaining.

I mean, how awesome would it be to do your chores in haute couture evening gowns?

Besides impractical, it is a hilarious picture of how much fun you can have with fashion. Plus, these photos are part of an editorial where the styling, set, makeup, hair, and casting couldn’t be better.

This editorial was sent to me by our other Blogger, Laurie, and it is from Vogue US 2005 by Steven Meisel

BeautyThe Ultimate Chinese Beauty: Du Juan

I’ve fallen in love with a new model this week and for once, she’s not a blonde.

This time, a stunning face with metallic painted nails, a jet black curled bob, and pouty Lindsey Wixson-esque lips caught my undivided attention instantly.

I found an editorial posted on Fashion Gone Rogue of Du Juan for Vogue China. After a little bit of google research I found that Du Juan was actually the first Asian cover model in 2005 when Mario Testino shot her for Vogue Paris. Since then Du Juan has appeared on many covers and graced the catwalks of many designers as well as stared in their ad campaigns.

Take a look and enjoy this editorial which, features both the model and the makeup artist’s wonderful play on metallics for this holiday season.

FashionVictoria’s Secret Fashion Show!

The much anticipated Victoria’s Secret fashion show was taped this week and lets just say, I wasn’t let down!

A fantastic lineup of super models including Adriana Lima, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman and Erin Heatherton were scantily clad, but overly dressed in some of the most inventive costumes to parade down the runway for our entertainment this year. Katy Perry (and Akon) had a singing act dressed, of course, in the brightest Victoria’s Secret outfit. Katy’s get-up didn’t look too different from what she normally wears but it was still fun to see her perform on a glitter staircase.

Not only is the amount of craftsmanship behind these costumes astounding but I have to say they must heavy as well. Despite balancing on the highest platform stilettos out there, these models didn’t even bend under the weight!

Take a peek here and have a great weekend!

The show will air on CBS November 30th at 10:00 EST

FashionModel Highlight: Color Theory with Jessica Stam

I’ve taken so many color theory classes that I couldn’t help but applaud Sølve Sundsbø for his photographic exploration in color for this editorial featuring one of fashion’s top models, Jessica Stam

I might be biased because I love Jessica Stam in almost all of the editorials and shows that I’ve seen her in but this is my first known glimpse of Sølve Sundsbø’s work (because he’s a photographer we’ve probably all seen something but not realized it). However, I think almost anyone would enjoy gasping at this daring exercise in saturated neons, metallics, and silhouettes.

I don’t know about you, but my hat is off to this duo’s successful collaboration!
