NewsGoing to San Francisco, Leaving My Heart at Lulu*s!

Moving is always quite an undertaking, but leaving good friends behind makes it that much harder. At the end of the month, I’ll be packing a moving van and heading off to sunny (and foggy) San Francisco. While I’m very excited to live in the city, I’m so going to miss working for, with its great team of stylish ladies and gents, not to mention you guys: our amazing fans! Thank you for reading my blogs, for loving Lulu*s and for being all-around awesome people!!
Psst! I’m somewhat new to the city, so If you have any suggestions of cool places to eat, shop and explore, let me know!

CelebrityCatching Up With Carey Mulligan

The talented Carey Mulligan has been turning heads and winning hearts ever since her Oscar-nominated performance in An Education
I was excited to see her on the cover of Vogue for October 2010. The story behind the shoot is really interesting, as they paired this fresh faced actress in couture pieces from Paris (pictured left). Photography is by Peter Lindbergh
It seems Mulligan’s talent can radiate and transform on any landscape, and I can’t wait to see her newest film, Never Let Me Go, which was released earlier this month.

The film follows the journey of three friends who grew up in a secluded boarding school in England. Also starring Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield. Watch the trailer above, and visit Vogue to view behind-the-scenes footage of the cover shoot!

BeautyWhat Are Your Makeup Essentials?

I‘m not afraid to admit that I’m a huge fan of makeup. When applied tastefully and with skill, makeup can really play up your natural beauty and create your own individual style. But while I’d love to let my eyeshadows and lipsticks multiply on a gorgeous vanity like Dita Von Teese’s (pictured below), I’ve managed to narrow my essentials down to five main things:
1. Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation – this rich cover-up is so moisturizing on my dry skin.
2. Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer – great for those unwelcome breakouts that manage to find us.
3. Lancome Eyeshadow in Mochaccino – to fill in my brows and define my eyes.
4. Almay Intense i-Color Mascara – for blue eyes (my favorite mascara by far).
5. Mac Matte Lipstick in Chili – this orange-red shade is great for warm skin tones.
Ok, now that I’ve dished, I want to hear about your essentials. Share your great finds and treasures!
