GeneralSite to See: Coffitivity!

coffitivity

Do coffee shop sounds boost your creativity? Audio-based site Coffitivity seems to think so. If you’re the type that works better with a little white noise and hustle and bustle, you are no longer required to be anywhere near it (that’s right folks, it’s the twenty-first century!). Interestingly enough, you can bring the cafe right into your home workspace or any other disagreeably quiet location with one of three ambient options available on Coffitivity:

“Morning Murmur” – Offers light soothing sounds with low, indistinguishable conversation, and a gentle hum of activity.
“Lunchtime Lounge” – Takes it up about half a notch from “Morning Murmur” with a little more lunchtime buzz.
“University Undertones” – Probably the peppiest of the three, you’ll hear a few more chairs and livelier conversation, but the scene is still gentle enough to get your work done.

And because we live in a world of media sharing and personal musical devices, you have both the option to share your own favorite cafe or background sounds, as well as to add music from your iTunes over the top of  the “cafe.”  The Coffitivity app is available for your Mac, iPad, or iPhone.

CelebrityThe Mindy Project Season 2!

Anyone excited for The Mindy Project season 2? Well if you’re not amped yet, perhaps some of these juicy little tidbits will set your interest a-sizzling!

the mindy project season 2

Can we just skip to the chase and say that the most notable celebrity appearance in the works is none other than the loveable JAMES FRANCO! No need to get jealous though, girls, because love is not in the air for James and Mindy (who will be just arriving back from Haiti with her season finale fiance Casey). Instead, Franco will be playing a new character in the office coined as the “Anti-Mindy”. Hmm, sounds interesting.

Besides the Franco phenomenon, there is a wedding in store, and Mindy will still be sporting her newly sheared locks from the end of season one. AND, if you’ve ever heard of a little band called The National, expect to see some special footage in a festival-themed episode.

The Mindy Project Season 2 kicks off on September 17th!

ArtRetro Modern: Artist Hiroshi Tanabe

Artist Hiroshi Tanabe combines a retro sense of color and style with meticulous line-work inspired by the traditional woodcut techniques of his native Japan. Punch-colored scenes of women in profile, as well as waves of dragonflies, dancers, and ribbons, exist on flat backgrounds that set the scene for fine waves of hair, and intricate fabric illustration. Tanabe’s career has already spanned two decades, popping up everywhere from Vogue Paris, to Rolling Stone, Anna Sui, and the New York Times.
