Leather trim trousers

Hi everyone! This is my final post in the fall series with LuLu*s and today we’re tackling the sporty trend.  Slouchy & track-style pants are totally in for the season, which is a major bonus for those of us who crave comfortable pieces that still look stylish!

Track pants

I personally like to add a heel when wearing looser-fitting pants because it elongates the leg line & adds a feminine touch.  These pants have such a modern feel & I love the faux leather detailing on the side.

Neutrals + plaid

I chose to pair them with more tailored pieces to balance out the sporty vibe, but you could just as easily wear them with a graphic tee & leather jacket for a cool weekend look.

Trench + relaxed trousers

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s posts & have gotten some good ideas for how to style these new trends with pieces you already own.  Thanks so much to LuLu*s for partnering with me!

What I’m wearing:

Trench (similar),  blouse (similar here or here), sweater (similar here or here), c/o LuLu*s Pants, heels ( similar here), Vintage clutch, watch (similar), bracelet (similar)

BeautyNYFW SS14: Our Favorite Beauty Trends

Header

It’s no secret that we love fashion week! We had such a great time keeping up on the spring ’14 shows and talking NYFW around the LuLu*s HQ. Catching the  hair and makeup details that each designer pairs with their collection is one of our favorite parts of fashion week!  NYFW Spring ’14 was full of  fresh beauty trends! With bright pouts, smooth and sleek hair, gorgeous updos and more, this upcoming spring will have something for everyone. We have rounded up our favorite runway beauty looks! Browse below and let us know what you think!

KateSpade

Kate Spade was all about femininity. Bright skin and a pale lip evoked a 60′s Bardot feeling, while linear manicure’s and perfectly tousled top knots felt decidedly modern. This look has an easy sophistication that is just timeless.

PrabalGurung

Prabal Gurung went for robotic uniformity that avoided the mundane with a striking pallette of lip colors.  Hair was kept sleek with a severe side part, lots of product and following the models head shape. Skin was perfected to be flawless, almost poreless, with a super-bright lip in one of  three custom-blended shades. Give us a pop-lip and we are in!

ZacPosen

Zac Posen kept it romantic with delicate and simple makeup in a pale pallette. Updos and pretty silk flowers may not feel right for day to day but they evoke a classic femininity that we can definitely appreciate.

BadgleyMischka

Badgley Mischka opted for a wash of blue across the eyes and understated lips that when paired with vintage inspired upswept hair felt fresh and very spring. We love the bright color up to the brow. The bold splash of bright in a simple face is modern and fun! A look we will definitely try for the next spring.

RebeccaMinkoff

Rebecca Minkoff went in a direction that felt almost “boho-noir”. With a bronze flush across the cheeks, lined eyes, and  fishtail milkmaid braids, this look crossed genres yet still felt pulled together and modern. We can easily see a LuLu*s girl brekaing out some fun fishtail braids and going with an easy bronzed look for next spring!

Guest BloggerFall Trends with Kimberly of Penny Pincher Fashion-Part 2!

Untitled-5

On Monday, we had frugal fashionista, Kimberly from Penny Pincher Fashion show us how to rock one of her favorite fall trends: camo! Today we have the second installment of her trend series and she is going to show us how to wear something we have seen all over the runway for fall 2013: leather details!

Ladylike leather1

Hi everyone! Kimberly from Penny Pincher Fashion here! For my second look with LuLu*s, I chose to focus on leather.  In my opinion, everyone should have a little leather jacket for the season – it adds just the right amount of edge to classic pieces & instantly makes any outfit cooler.

Leather blazer2

Leather jacket3

I love this vegan style because it’s an affordable option & it doesn’t have the overtly tough feel of a moto jacket.  Plus, it’s slightly easier to dress up since it fits more like a blazer.

Tweed & leather4

This would be perfect for those of you who live in warmer climates because it’s a thinner material, which gives you a versatile layer without adding bulk.  I would also pair this with a button-down silk blouse, a flowy printed mini & ankle boots for a more dressed-up look.

Camo sweatshirt1

Hi! I’m Kimberly from Penny Pincher Fashion!  This week, I am so excited to get to share 3 different looks I’ve created with pieces from LuLu*s.  We are collaborating to show you how to wear some of the biggest trends for fall.  Today’s post is the first in the series and I decided to focus on camouflage.

Camo & leather1

This sweatshirt is honestly the softest thing I have ever put on! It is so comfortable & perfect to wear with jeans & sneakers on the weekend, but also pairs nicely with sleek tailored pieces like a pencil skirt (extra points if it’s lace or leather).

Camo + sparkle1

Dressed up camo1

Camo is sometimes a tricky print to style, especially for those who gravitate towards more feminine silhouettes – so if you’re not quite sure, try balancing it with something girly (like a flippy black mini) or pair with classic pieces (like a white button-down layered underneath + cropped black trousers).

 What I’m wearing:

O’Neill Blakely Camo Sweatshirt c/o LuLu’s, pencil skirt (similar), black heels (similar; also love this studded option)
