As a natural redhead, I've spent most of my childhood hating my hair. Being a redhead on the playground as a kid only made you an open target for teasing. As I've gotten older, though, I've grown to love my red locks - they're a real part of my personality and identity. It's great to see so many beautiful and unique redheads depicted in the media these days. Thanks for equating "rare" and "beautiful," Kathleen- two terms that go together so well in both beauty and fashion. This post made my day! I'm a natural, boring dirty blonde, light brown color. It's tough with the upkeep, I personally don't worry too much about getting my hair redone you know, every 4-6 weeks, which is what they recommend for red. It definitely does fade.. for a good 2-3 weeks after dying it I'm still getting dye on my towels when I dry my hair. I love my red... it's kind of my trademark and has been ever since I've been in college. But i've been contemplating doing blonde now! Haha. I’ve been a redhead for about 4 years now. I LOVED it! My hair stood out so much, and it looked great with my skin tone. I want my stylist to put that on top of my dk brw locks...now that I see this post I totally want to do it even more. I'm getting older so I'm going to take the plunge and do it now before I get too old and it look s like a mid life crisis. I imagine a dark brown shade with red mixed in would be great. That's what I have right now and it's a good "first step" to red hair.
