Style File: The 2013 Grammy's!

Celebrity, Fashion, Music | 11 February 2013

by

The 2013 Grammy’s had some great moments; LL hosted, JT is officially back (and looking better than ever, I might add), and Prince showed up with an entirely diamond-encrusted cane.
And among all the Grammy Award winners and show-stopping performances, there were some fabulous fashion finds.
Here are some of our stand-outs from the night, including some risk-takers and rule-breakers!

Red Done Right: Rihanna and Natasha Bedingfield put the red carpet to shame in crimson, floor-length gowns, completing their look with subtle make-up, and loose waves.

Babes in Black: Whether dressed up or barely dressed at all, these two divas always look fab. Beyonce kept it cool & trendy in a color block suit, meanwhile, J. Lo left little to the imagination in Anthony Vaccarello.

Southern Show-Stopper: Along with an amazing performance, Carrie Underwood simply slayed in Roberto Cavalli! We couldn’t take our eyes off the intricate bodice and Carrie’s sultry look.

Pretty in Prints: The always adorable Adele ditched the dark and went for a bold patterned dress, and Alexa Chung was the picture of perfection in Valentino.

Brilliant Bodices: Kelly Rowland looked sexy in strategic cut-outs, and Allison Williams hung up her preppy ‘Girls’ digs for a beautiful beaded gown.

And the Winner Is…: Taylor Swift looked almost reminiscent of a Grecian goddess in a mythical J. Mendel gown that was simply unmatched. Taylor has looked nothing shy of phenomenal as of late, and we can’t wait to see what she shows up in next!

Alright, fashionistas, who do you think was a red carpet cutie, and who hit the wrong note?

Crush of the Week: The Men of 'Walking Dead'

Celebrity | 06 February 2013

by

This week, we’re crushing bad on a triple-threat of zombie-hunting, life-saving, all around hot-having guys.
Not tuning into ‘Walking Dead’ yet? Let us give you three MAJOR reasons why it should be your new favorite show.

The Fearless Leader – Rick Grimes
Played by Andrew Lincoln

Who doesn’t like a man that takes charge? Rick Grimes is a man on a mission to keep his family and newfound friends alive, no matter the cost.

The Knight in Shining Poncho – Daryl Dixon
Played by Norman Reedus

The unexpected hero, Daryl is always there to rescue the damsel in distress, and even take care of a crying baby. Seriously.

The Scapegoat – Glenn Rhee
Played by Steven Yeun

Glenn is always the first to put himself on the line for the good of his fellow survivors, and he somehow always narrowly escapes, making him simply irresistible. Especially to zombies.

Need more reasons to tune in on Sunday?
We didn’t think so.

He’s back, ladies & gentlemen.
That smooth croon! Those baby blues! Those once curly locks!
This week’s playlist is an homage to everyone’s favorite studly Southern gentleman: Justin Timberlake.
Why, you ask? Because it’s JT! Enough said.

LuLu*s & J. Timberlake, now how heavy is that?

Style Crush: Lucy Hale

Celebrity | 22 January 2013

by

Got a secret, can you keep it…

You may know her as Aria Montgomery from Pretty Little Liars but Lucy Hale is my major style crush and that’s no secret. From her glam red carpet looks to the streets of LA, Lucy looks good in everything she wears. I don’t know how that’s possible but it’s true. See for yourself.

Sideswept hair and knee length dresses are Lucy’s signature red carpet style. From her haute mermaid-esque look at the MTV Movie Awards to her lovely little light blue number at Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood Party, Lucy looks flawless on the red carpet.

Okay okay, I know that Lucy probably doesn’t style herself for magazine shoots but I just can’t help but think that these outfits are things she’d pick out on her own. Whether it’s the recurring theme of sparkles and studs or the fact that she can rock that edgy-glam look so well, I’m loving her looks here.

This girl on the town look is so cute and she rocks that mini dress and stiletto bootie like nobody’s business. I’m also a huge fan of her casual denim and tee shirt look with a coral scarf for a pop of color. Casual, comfy and mega cute!

Whatever Lucy Hale is wearing she always looks classy and put-together. What’s your favorite Lucy-look?

Favorite Flicks of 2012 - Part 2!

Celebrity | 15 January 2013

by

I happen to be a total sucker for a great action flick, a real lover of laugh-til-you-cry comedy, and a total fiend for James Bond (but who isn’t?).
Call them “dude” movies all you want, but the fact of the matter is, I can’t get enough!
So let’s wrap up our entertainment recaps of 2012 with part two of my favorite movies.

Skyfall

As my favorite 007 EVER, Daniel Craig is not only swoon-worthy, but a total bad-ass. And when put up against a ridiculously creepy villain played by Javier Bardem, well, you’re in a for a cinematic roller coaster ride.

The Avengers

Bottom line: It’s CRIMINAL to have that many good-looking people in one movie. Criminal.

Pitch Perfect

What do you get when you put a bunch of witty, adorable, powerhouse chicks with killer voices and a lot of attitude in one movie? The hilarity and non-stop riot that is Pitch Perfect. (Warning: This movie may cause you to develop a serious girl crush on Rebel Wilson.)

The Dark Knight Rises

Christian Bale is awesome, Tom Hardy is terrifying, JGL is (Spoiler alert!!), and Anne Hathaway is the feistiest cat on the block. Need more convincing? Yeah, me either.

Django Unchained

Love, revenge, comedy, and a blue suit. This movie may not be for the faint of heart, but Jamie Foxx is brilliant, Leo DiCaprio is chill-inducing, and Christoph Waltz is a silver fox. Endjoy! (The “d” is silent.)

Now, I wonder what movies 2013 has in store for us…
