The annual company soiree is a staple among the holiday party circuit, where you can finally let a little loose after hours with your favorite colleagues and show them your fashion aptitude outside of the same ol’ office wear. For a cute and appropriate day-to-night look, I went with the classic black skirt with a twist. The mermaid flare is a super cute and flattering cut that makes sure you stand out among the sea of ordinary knee-length skirts. I paired it with this chunky polka dot sweater to balance the look between soft and sleek and to create a chic and cozy impression when laughing with the colleagues over great glasses of wine. Remember, you’re partying with the people you see everyday so make an impression; it’s worth dressing up for!

Guest BloggerKiara of Tobruck Ave: A Fall Day In NYC!

Fall is for fashion, amiright??  Here at LuLu*s, we love the fall for all of its possibilities. With that just-right temperature, you can rock light layers without freezing or being uncomfortably warm. It is the season to break out all of your amazing jackets, perfect boots, and cozy sweaters. We love imagining fall in all of our favorite cities and enlisting bloggers to show us how they layer up in LuLu*s! Today we have Kiara of Tobruck Ave to show us how she rocks her LuLu*s layers in the greatest city in the world: New York!

Hi everyone! I’m Kiara and I blog over at Tobruck Ave! Together with Brooklyn based photographer Emma Kepley, I hit the cute little streets of NOLITA for the day. It is my favorite zone to explore, especially Elizabeth Street. The cobblestone street lined with trees has so much character and so many great coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. We battled the rain the wind and even caught  a couple rays of sunshine ducking in and out of little shops along the way.

Not to miss was a bright yellow gelato / coffee spot called A B Biagi! We could not resist a little taste test of pretty much every flavor; delicious! For lunch we stopped into California-inspired taco restaurant Tacombi, escaping the fall rain and wind. New York fall day looks always call for layers and outfits that are easily carried from day to night, since after street strolling and subways, evening events always follow.

This shift dress and bomber combo was such a perfect go-to look for my day in the city and the combat boots added not only comfort while walking, but a little bit of a rocker edge to the outfit.

After tacos, shopping, and a lot of walking (very purposely past the iconic heart wall), we stopped by a little cafe and caught up with my girl Natalie of Natalie off Duty for some Chai lattes. Before the storm hit that evening, in true blogger fashion, we took some outfit pictures and then beat the rain by ducking into a store opening in Soho. Thanks to LuLu*s for the perfect outfit for a day in the city!

Now its your turn to shop your favorite fall look! Head over to to enter for a chance to win a $250 gift card to shop your little heart out.

FashionOrange is the New Black with Jenny of Good, Bad, and Fab!

This week we have the insanely fabulous Jenny Wu of Good, Bad, and Fab showing us Halloween isn’t all about rocking a crazy costume. If you are headed to an office party or a dressy affair, orange is the perfect go-to color to get you in the holiday spirit. Okay, so it may not be the new black, but this week orange is having a seriously spooky-chic moment!

As a lawyer, I can’t get away with wearing my Miley costume to work as teddy bear playsuits are specifically listed as “prohibited attire” in the employee handbook, so I have to find more subtle ways to celebrate the holiday in style. For a day in the office, I’m wearing my orange wrap dress as a top paired with a floral embroidered pencil skirt. A statement necklace, tights, and low key suede ankle boots keep the look professional, chic, and Halloween happy.
