I am thankful for life. First for learning the value of life & the strength it holds. After losing someone close to brain cancer a few months ago, I have a new outlook on life. Appreciating everything i’ve ever had & will have and the wonderful people who are in my life. Something so priceless but is my entire existence. ♥

Here are just a few things that are my world. ♥

I am so thankful for my friends. Without them my life would be colorless and slow. My friends have helped me, made me laugh, opened my heart and allowed me to grow. I wish they all could peek inside my heart and understand the amount of love and gratitude I have for them. They have pulled me along in painful times and I couldn’t have survived without them.

I am thankful for my mother! She is the one person who has always been there for me unconditionally and who I sometimes take for granted. Without her I wouldn’t be able to pursue my career dreams, have a roof over my head, or even be alive! Ha Happy Thanksgiving! :)

I am thankful for my three beautiful children. They are my shining stars! I look to them for inspiration to become not just a better person but a better parent. I have had many struggles in my life with being a single parent to finding someone who loves me and my kids for who we are. I enjoy being a mom! It has had many challenges with great rewards. They never seem to bore me with their energy and their amazing accomplishments. They are truly my thanks for this Thanksgiving!

I might not have posted my entry correctly with my photo, i hope this works.

My story is a little different than the average. My family doesn’t do things together. They haven’t, ever since I was a little kid. The are spread over the united states and they have always seemed to be very cold, work possessed people. I always felt like the black sheep in my family. Scratch that- I always felt like the black sheep- without a family. And my whole life when it came to holidays like this I would lie to my friends about what I was doing because I was so embarrassed to say that I’d be by myself.
Around December of last year, I turned one of my great friendships with this boy into a relationship. This Thanksgiving was the first “real” one I had gone to since forever and I was extremely nervous. I had been crying during the day playing the self pity game as I watched families gathering as I drove around town. My boyfriend gave me a hug and said “Dont worry. My family is your family.”
I didn’t really understand what he meant until I walked into his grandparents house.
Not only his parents, but EVERYONE greeted me with a hug. I was blown away. One of their traditions is to go around in a circle and have each person say what they are thankful for. When it came to my turn, I said “Growing up I never got to experience holidays like this” ..then i started tearing up, of course..” I am so grateful to be here with my boyfriend and his beautiful, accepting family that makes me feel more like family than my own family does.” After I stopped speaking, I was bombarded with hugs from all around. This family that had barely met me was accepting me…broken little me…into their hearts and into their world.
It was the best, most mind blowing feeling ever.
I need to stop myself before I write a novel.
So, all in all, I am grateful for the good people in this world. The people that have so much love circulating around that there is plenty for everyone to feel loved and important.
And I am grateful for my boyfriend for bringing me into a group of people that showed me a sense of love I have never felt before in my life.
For the first holiday in 21 years, I felt as if I belonged somewhere and was loved and wanted there…and that is the best feeling ever.

I wasnt able to take pictures tonite, but here is a picture that I thought captured the mood of how I feel. It emits love and devotion, and this man has brought so much happiness to my life. I am so thankful …he has changed my life in so many ways. :’) I need to stop now before I drench my keyboard.

The little things that make me cringe, with all the distress they bring make the good things matter more
Make me a stronger person than I was before
I’m thankful that I can wake up every day to the melody birds emit
That I can live in such a beautiful world, and truly be a part of it
I’m thankful for the moistness of morning dew just before I get to class
That feels cold against my feet when I walk against the grass
I’m thankful for the golden sun that warms my heart with glee
I’m thankful for all that I hear, smell, taste, feel and see
The ever-changing sky that goes from sapphire, to cyan, to orange and pink
Inspiring my soul, giving me new thoughts to think
The stars that guide my drifting dreams
That engender questions, and deep thoughts provoke
All of nature’s masterpieces that awe in me evoke
Mountains take my breath away, I feel small against their stature
The ocean leaves my mouth open wide, no Kodak moment can capture their grandeur
The sand between my toes, is an incomparable feeling
All the things I’m thankful for, all the great around me
Music is pure pleasure to my unsuspecting ears
Sweets my taste buds to pure bliss tend to steer
Writing is my true passion that I would be empty if it I could not embrace
It makes me who I am, for which I’m thankful; it puts me in my place
Science is my other love, medical genetics educes my interest
Knowing others are less fortunate than I, leaves in me in ever-more unrest
I’m thankful for the things I love, for my talents and my lacks
Embracing all of these things help me live life to the max
I’m thankful that I can still improve, which gives me something to aim for
That ambition drives me to it; I couldn’t ask for more
I’m thankful for shopping, I love clothes
    What can I say?
Fashion is a vice of mine; it’s the rainbow to the rain
Creativity is my virtue whether with clothes or with words
I like to make the ordinary extraordinary; it’s the fun upon the chores
I’m thankful for me freedom; of my right of speech and thought\
There are things we take for granted, but they matter a lot
I’m thankful for my roots that are tied deep to my heart
Spain, Romania, Cuba in me play a huge part
I am thankful for language, although I only speak two
It helps turn emotion into words, and my love for it is true
My friends, where would I be without them?
I couldn’t have asked for better anchors
When I’m drifting into sadness, they keep me at bay
My family that love me unconditionally
And mean the world to me
I wish everyone were as lucky as me, I wish that were the case
I’m overflowing with gratefulness, how much more can I take?
I’m thankful for my health, and that of those I love, for my home and for my luxuries,
I don’t give thanks enough. This poem can’t sum up how grateful I am, writing doesn’t even come close
Everyday more things are added to the list. Quite a challenge does it pose.
In this poem I’m thankful for every imperfect rhyme. I’m thankful for all these things and more
I’m so grateful to be alive. I’m thankful for so many things, counting them is an impossibility. I’m thankful for all that I am and not. I’m thankful to be me.

    __________

the reason i chose this image is because it has a few of the many things i love: my amazing friends, family, nature at its best, the sky, the ocean, mountains at its best, fashion…some of the things that make me who I am

I am so very thankful for every bit of my whole entire life…From my fiance, to my career, to my dogs, to my friends… I am thankful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful life… But above all, I am thankful for my family…. A family who not only starts off every Thanksgiving by serving the less fortunate but we also use it as an educational time and we have Thanksgiving at “Plymouth Rock”….

I’m thankful for my family that loved me from first sight, enough to adopt me. I’m thankful for my mother that puts up with my stubbornness but through it we always end up laughing. I’m thankful for my friends that love me despite me weirdo personality that is a rainbow all its own and for them always making me laugh. And i’m thankful for my boyfriend, we’ve been together for a bit over three years and we have been through thick and thin and through it all he has loved me for who i am and helped me see that i did need to lay off on my attitude. I love all of these people very much and i am extremely thankful for having them in my life.

The word FAITH is what I’m thankful most of all, because without {MY} FAITH nothing else would matter. In the last year, I have learned that without it I would be lost! I take each day as it comes and by living for that day-ONLY! Never worrying about the stress of the unknown. Each day is a gift and that’s is why-(the word)FAITH makes me so thankful!
