Hey from Lulus! Spring has us itchin’ for something new and fun for the abode and what’s more fun than a DIY boho wall hanging? We love the texture wall hangings can bring to a space so we decided to make our own and we love the outcome. Follow along with the steps below to make your own!
– 2 Colors of Yarn
– 2 Gold Rings (size to preference)
– Gold Wire
– 5 Copper Couplings 1/4″
First, we attached the two gold rings by wrapping gold wire around the top until they felt secure, as seen in the image below. You can fasten the wire by folding a piece across the back and wrapping the wire around itself, or by placing a small piece of tape on the back.
Next, cut the yarn into roughly 45″ pieces to tie onto the lower, larger ring.
Tie the cut yarn into a larks head knot around the base of the ring. Keep tying new strands of yarn until you reach desired thickness along the width of the ring.
Repeat these steps on the smaller ring. We opted to use a second color and once we were finished tying the knots, we placed the yarn on the smaller ring behind the larger ring for a boho, layered vibe.
Once you are satisfied with how your knots and layers look, take scissors and loosely trim bottom of yarn to the desired length.
The final step is to grab 4-5 strands of yarn and run the copper couplings through them. You can secure the couplings with glue or let them hang on their own. We made ours into a fun V shape.
And Voila! You have your very own boho wall hanging you can use to spruce up your home with a laid-back chic vibe!
