Get smooth, silky, and toned skin in just a few minutes with our super easy Coconut Rose Body Scrub DIY! We chose three simple ingredients (organic of course!) that you probably already have in your kitchen, plus this scrub smells and feels so amazing that it will make you feel like you’ve spent the day at a luxury spa! Coconut oil has SO many applications as a natural beauty ingredient: not only is it ultra-hydrating and leaves your skin looking lustrous (but never greasy), it also has antibacterial and antiviral properties to help to prevent breakouts and heal wounds quickly. Finely ground pink Himalayan salt is great at exfoliating and removing dead skin, plus it helps draw out toxins and cleanse. Rose essential oil is a natural astringent that assists in toning, firming, and lifting the skin, and contains properties that help skin heal scars and stretchmarks more rapidly.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon Room Temperature Coconut Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Finely Ground Pink Himalayan Salt or Sea Salt
- 3-4 Drops Rose Organic Essential Oil
Directions
Simply whisk these three ingredients together with a fork for a ready-to-use scrub! Use on hands, feet, arms, and legs. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

O.O! I need to try this ASAP. Thanks Lulu’s. Great pictures, it gives me a sense of pampering already.
Awesome Lulu’s thanks for the idea Have not pampering myself for a while so this will be an definitely must do for me
You’re better off going to the spa for a day. Organic Rose Essential Oil costs a fortune.
How long can v store this scrub.. I live in highly humid n high temperature area
Hi Anu, this scrub will be fine at room temperature, but we suggest referencing the expiration dates on the products used.
I have a problem with the coconut oil hardening in the salt scrub how do you prevent that from happening? Or do you have to microwave it everytime you want to use it?
Stephanie, typically coconut oil will begin to soften at temps above 76 degrees. Depending on your container, you can try submerging in warm water to soften.
I got red rose essential oil for $5.95
hi! I am a start up blogger and I want to ask permission if I could feature your recipe in my upcoming blog?
I promise to credit your blog.
thanks.
Hi Maya, yes please share!
I love this and I want to make 80-100 small jars for my daughters bridal shower. What amounts should I use of each ingredient?
Lisa, it will depend on how many ounces your jars hold, but if you search for an online recipe converter or multiplier that should help you determine how much you will need for your project.
Where can you buy the ingredients.jo tyas…….
Jo, most of these items can be purchased at your local grocery or health food store, or even online on sites like Amazon.com.
Beautiful photos, and great idea for scrub….though, as a master in aromatherapy, I would suggest to replace rose essential oil by Jasmine or ylang ylang, both have cosmetic anti aging and anti oxidant benefits without the prohibiting price!!! Keep your rose essential oil to add in a day facial cream….you will enjoy it all day long… ;))).
Another option would be to replace rose essential oil by rose floral water ( hydrosol)
Have fun trying these…and stay beautiful with nature!!!

This is so pretty can’t wait to try it, thanks for the illustrations Lulu it really is beautiful!!
How much does one batch of this make? What size containers do I need? Thanks!
Hi… I was wondering what can I substitute the coconut oil with?
Should the oil be liquid or solid?
Room temperature oil . Also, rose oil is expensive so sweet orange oil has the same healing properties as rose but much cheaper!
pink salt and coconut are 2 of my favourite things, just gotta get some rose essenial oil and I’ll be making this for christmas gifts, thanks for the recipe
I’ll be sharing over at http://artcraftcrazy.com
An easy to follow, beautifully photographed DIY beauty luxury that I’ll be sharing on my Facebook page with my subscribers. Well done!
Xo, Jonet
Cannot wait to make this, it sounds divine.
Thank you 🙂
Hi! I think this is awesome! Can you please tell me how to determine the expiration date on this scrub? Cause I want to make this and give it as a gift to my relatives. And what brand of coconut oil you recommend? Thanks! Xoxo
Reenie, expiration will be determined by the date on the items used. We used Dr. Bronner’s coconut oil, but any brand will do!
Hi, can we add in say 1/4 tsp of cinnamon too to this? Will it be a good idea??
I have found if you melt the coconut oil and mix it with any other carrier oil it will not solidify. Also, you can buy coconut oil in liquid form as well ( Carrington Farms bought from Amazon).
What brand of essential oil did you use? Also, should it be Rose Water or Rose Hip?
Is there another oil I could use other than coconut? I find that it clogs my drains 🙁
I need to fill 4 oz jars will your recipe fill one of those?
How much does this receipe make? What size jar I need to make some for a baby shower
Hi!! What other oil can we use to make the scrub?
Thank you!
Hey LuLu! I love this recipe but daughter doesn’t like the rose smell. I was wondering if another oil can be used with the Himalayan salt?
Oh so lovely! Thanks for sharing it <3
Is this everlasting?
Tried this today, I needed something pampering, pretty and accessible, this fit the brief perfectly.
10mins later I was in the shower and came out with beautiful soft skin, feeling great.
It will now be a staple in my bathroom, with an alternative lavender for nighttime.
All of the true rose essential oils I have found cost at least $100 per ounce. I did find a site that sells 1/4 oz bottles and bought some for $46, but that bottle won’t go far. Do you have any suggestions for a different way to create the rose scent? What about rose extract? That can be purchased at the grocery store for a WAY smaller price. The pink salt also costs a lot at my local grocery store. Do you know a good place to buy it that is affordable? Thanks!
I just made some of this wonderful body scrub and found it amazing! It is especially useful for dry skin. I use it as a scrub in the shower and also just for washing my hands to get rid of dryness – and it truly works! I am making a bunch for my family for Christmas gifts. I used 100% pure Rosewood Essential Oil and it smells wonderful. The Himalayan Sea Salt can be purchased at Costco for a reasonable price. Thank you, Lulu.
Forgot to say that I added several sprinkles of coarse Mediterranean sea salt to give it a little more scrub/
Seriously Mia. Try looking for once!I found three bottles for 2 dollars!
I decided to start making my own body scrubs. This one looks so pretty and delicious at the same time. On the other hand, where could I get the himalayan salts
These inexpensive rose essential oils are almost certainly synthetic, which is fine if all you’re looking for is scent. I think a real rose essential oil could cost around $100.
This looks amazing and definitely going to try
What is the shelf life of this?

I’m going to try making this, this weekend!
I am working on making this scrub as a gift for my boyfriends mother. I got all the ingredients and followed the recipe, however it is still strongly smells of coconut oil. I have added quite a lot extra of the rose essential oil (almost half the vile) and still very predominantly coconut. Any suggestions on how to mask the coconut smell and bring out the rose? The texture is great and applies nicely. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I used this recipe in the “welcome baskets” for my husband and I’s wedding party. They were a hit! I still have friends asking me what was in it. As another person wrote, rose essential oil is expensive so I used lavender essential oil for my gifts to save some $. The scrub was still pretty awesome! Thanks lulu’s yet again!
Thanks SO much for the recipe and the beautiful, inspiring photos. I also
really love the benefits of Rose Essential Oil which can be used on its own!
oh this is amazing for a perfect pamper session..super easy and so tempting..

Do you have to use the rose essential oil?
Looks so feminine and beautiful. I intend to make for all of my best friends!
Excellent !!
I am looking for a cucumber scrub, any recommendations?
I am using a scrub made by the company called ASUTRA. I bought it from Amazon, if anyone wants to buy a gentle and smooth body scrub just check it out on Amazon.
How much does this make?
My daughter made this scrub for me and I love it. It has improved my hands skins, I also use it on my face anf it removes soo many dead skins and left my face feel moist and radiant. By the way, it’s great on eczema skin. Trust me, thats my problem since birth.
Awesome, need to try for this summer! ;D
Great item and so darn cute! Any chance you know what font you used for the label? Would love to find one similar as it makes it look so clean and light.

I’m using rose soap scents instead, is that still going to work??
where can you get pink Himalayan salt
I would like to make this as a shower favor. How far ahead of time can I make this ?
Nice article. Well I didn’t know about using Himalayan salt as a scrub, though I have been using edible Himalayan salt in cooking for quite a long time now. This salt is really amazing and I am definitely going to try this as a scrub skin as well and will definitely tell you the results. Recently I have also bought Himalayan salt lamps from ittefaqco. These lamps are also very good just like the edible salt.
If I did not want to use salt how much sugar would I use as a substitution for the salt
Can I use fractionated coconut oil instead of ordinary cocnonut oil.
Hi Fiona – Yes, you can use fractionated coconut oil! Hope you enjoy the scrub! xo
For the coconut oil, do we get the solid version that’s more like grease? Or actual liquid oil?
Hi Alexis – You can use whichever type of coconut oil you prefer. If you get the oil that is more solid, you can warm it up to get the correct liquid amount. Hope you love the scrub! xo
