Green or Extreme? Taking Eco Awareness to a Whole New Level
We’ve all heard the phrase “going green” about a billion times by now, as more and more companies, groups, and individuals are becoming concerned with keeping our planet from going haywire in the next few decades.
As lazy as I often am, I do have my very own recycling can at home, and my roommate and I try to water only at night. Maybe not much, but it’s a start. Some people, however, have taken this new trend above and beyond the call of duty.
Check out some really interesting “green” creations below.

Artist Colleen Jordan makes the wearable planters you see on the bottom left. “Why should your plants stay at home?” she asks. “They help clean the air you breathe, are beautiful, and create a wonderful conversation starter.” * Reykjavik artist Hafsteinn Juliusson created the two rings on the models as “an experiment in drawing nature toward man, as nature being the presupposition of life.” * Shiva Master Hanaoka is the genius behind such creations as the cufflinks above and the moccasins below.
Bathroom & Booties

La Chanh Nguyen is the brains of this insanely awesome moss bath mat, which is watered from the water dripping off you after a bath or shower. Why not throw in some awesome grass slippers while you’re at it?
Furniture

How about a grass bed? This insane(ly awesome) bed is a creation of Euraflora, a plant exhibition held in Genoa, Italy. Not in the mood for a nap? How about relaxing in the back yard with a glass of lemonade on your grass couch? (Psst. You can actually build one of these yourself. Check out the how-to.) Perhaps a lawn chaise is more your style, or maybe a foot stool? Either way, you’re pretty much covered in the grass furniture department.
So what do you guys think about some of these creations? Are they really cool or just plain crazy? How far is too far, or can we not get green enough?
