AM – Arctic Monkeys

As long time fans of the über-talented foursome known at the Arctic Monkeys, we were beyond stoked when this album dropped, and it has been on heavy rotation since day one. From start to finish, AM drips with cool crooning & liquid lyrics, and makes you fall even more in love with Alex Turner than  you ever thought possible.

Highlights: R U Mine?, One For the Road, Arabella

…Like Clockwork – Queens of the Stone Age

No newcomers to the rock game, QOTSA have done it again with their sixth studio album. We dare say this is the best yet, hitting harder than ever with grit and guts galore.

Highlights: I Sat By the Ocean, If I Had A Tail, Smooth Sailing

Overgrown – James Blake

James Blake is a dreamboat with a voice that can make you simply weak in the knees, and with his sophomore release, he proves once again that he is much more than a pretty face. This album is the perfect soundtrack for just about any mood, and is worth several spins. Per day.

Highlights: Retrograde, Life Round Here, Voyeur

The 20/20 Experience – Justin Timberlake

We know, we know. Justin dropped TWO albums last year. And both were so spectacular, we can’t possibly choose one, so Justin makes the list with the complete 20/20 Experience! This album is bordering on perfection, hitting all the hot spots with the jammiest of jams and ballads for broken hearts.

Highlights: Strawberry Bubblegum, Mirrors, Only When I Walk Away

The Bones of What You Believe – CHVRCHES

One of our most anticipated albums of 2013, CHVRCHES stole our hearts with the beautiful voice of Lauren Mayberry set over some of the catchiest beats our ears have ever heard! If you haven’t listened this one yet, stop what you’re doing, put it on, and dance the day away!

Highlights: The Mother We Share, Gun, Recover

Nothing Was the Same – Drake

This. Album. Is. Gold. Drake is a genius, there is no doubt. And we just don’t know how he can possibly top such a solid album, complete with a tribute to Wu-Tang, but we can’t wait to see him try.

Highlights: Started From the Bottom, Hold On, We’re Going Home, All Me

Modern Vampires of the City – Vampire Weekend

We are totally crushing on Vampire Weekend. These adorable prepsters, led by the too-cute Ezra Koenig, sound like a daydream you hope will never end. If you can listen to “Diane Young” without totally losing composure, well, it’s just not possible.

Highlights: Step, Diane Young, Ya Hey

Pure Heroine – Lorde

Lorde became our Queen Bee last year. Royals took the world by storm, and the young songstress shows no signs of stepping down from her throne.

Highlights: Tennis Court, Royals, Bravado

Reflektor – Arcade Fire

They brought in David Bowie. Need we say more?

Highlights: Reflektor, Joan of Arc, Afterlife

Yeesuz – Kanye West

As much as Kanye seems to surprise us with his everyday antics, it is no surprise at all that this album ended up completely blowing us away. It’s intense and provocative, and nothing shy of “Kanye,” but definitely worthy of the highest praises.

Highlights: Hold My Liquor, Blood on the Leaves, Bound 2
