It’s been a little while since we’ve featured one of our favorite style icons Chloe Sevigny, but don’t think we haven’t been keeping tabs! This week’s segment of  “A Chloë Moment” has Chloe Sevigny wearing a selection from vintage Chloe (the brand, not the woman). In fact, this marvelous violin dress was designed by none other than Karl Lagerfeld in 1983. That’s right, 1983!

I can hardly express how relevant this piece is today with its sultry side cutouts that wrap around the back, and the midi length sheath that is so in right now. The transition from funnel neckline to cap sleeves is as smooth as butter, but the embellished violin motif is seriously out-of-this world. Embroidered with pearls, metallic thread, and a few scattered rhinestones climbing up the neck, the whole gold-over-black ensemble “goes for Baroque” and comes out super-stunning!
