Aloha from Hawai'i! Day 5: Night Rider

Dear Diary,

After going to North Shore, learning how to surf, and having a BBQ we decided to go on a hike through the Ma’akua gulch to swim in some waterfalls!

We drove to the East side of the island and traversed down a ravine that looked like it was straight out of Jurassic Park. At the end of the hike the walls closed in and we had to climb up a series of waterfalls to get to the end of the gulch! We got to a point where I couldn’t continue and had to watch as Mark (our guide) climbed up the face of a slippery 30 foot waterfall.

When we got home, despite being sore, we dressed up and rode our mopeds downtown for some dancing. Here’s what the girls wore out!

On Sierra the Made For Maui Dress by Collective Concepts was paired with Claire Fong earrings, a belt, and layered necklaces for an amaizingly simple but glamorous look! I threw in Sierra’s moped goggles to make for a fun and funny acessory to top off the look! Molly sports a vintage leather jacket over her shoulder and huge colorful bangles with a dress that I designed.

Aloha from Hawai'i! Day 4: Surf Lessons....

Dear Diary,

Day 4 and the surfing competition has commenced!

Well, ok, ok, I kinda, sorta, learned how to surf today, and despite my pathetic paddling skills I managed to actually get up on the board and then on a wave, which does equal surfing (at least in my world). Now that’s not to say that I was awesome at it or anything, but I did manage to get up and that was quite a feat to accomplish for me!

After my feeble attempt at surfing (with the help of my sister’s friend Mark) we retired home to a good ol’ fashioned BBQ … plus some super hot surfers … plus some girls in some absolutely adorable clothes… which equaled an awesome day in O’ahu!

Sierra is wearing an adorable leopard print dress that we had a while back, while Molly sports a beautifully draped vintage dress that I grabbed from the LuLu*s vintage section as soon as I could. (Keep updated on our vintage, as killer pieces come and go before you know it!) Remember to pair dresses with cute belts and killer high heels, and always top your outfit off with a pair of Claire Fong earrings.

Currently Channeling: SLOANE from the Brat Pack

Fashion | 25 January 2010

A couple weeks ago, I was featuring a daily Brat Pack inspired outfit from our stylist Cara, called Currently Channeling, and never got the last Brat outfit up online. This last outfit for Currently Channeling with Cara changed a few times because of different items that kept going in and out of stock. Despite that, I think this outfit is pretty awesome, so check it out and tell us what you think!

Here’s my final look of the 80s Brat Pack look: Sloane Peterson from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Sloane not only taught me how to be the coolest girlfriend of all time, but gave me some great inspirations to create a laid back look. Here’s how you too can channel Sloane!

Here are the Zoe Sunglasses [sold out!], the Iliad Necklace in Bronze, the Fleur Cowl Neck Tunic by Alternative Apparel, the Lydie Handbag in Grey [sold out!], the BB Dakota Calista Shorts,  and the Nexus Double Wrap Belt in Black.

They'll See Red and be Green with Envy

For the girl with passion in her heart and a wardrobe so hot it sparks fire, red is definitely her color of choice.

I, personally, love a touch of red from time to time. This passion stirring shade never fails to be an attention getter, whether it’s worn as a lipstick, a statement belt or on your feet (which is especially fun).

That’s why I was head over heels (literally) for our newest footwear phenomena: the Mixx Tokyo 01 Red Kid Suede Studded Pradaesque Heel [sold out!]. This baby practically jumps right off the page with its ruby red faux suede exterior that is perfectly complemented by a rockin’ high heel and Prada-inspired studs for a little extra dazzle.

For all of you ladies who begged their parents for a pair of Dorothy’s ruby red slippers when you were little, these are your perfect, grown up girl version.

This heel will also work wonders for all those holiday parties. I can’t think of a better way to sip egg nog than to gather compliments about your festive footwear.

“Just call me Miss Clause,”  you can say with a wink.
