CelebrityRed Carpet Recap: Our Fave Celeb Looks of 2013!

Last year packed some pretty punches when it comes to celebrity red carpet fashion, and we were witness to every gorgeous gown, mind-blowing mini, and beautiful bodycon that graced the award shows! Taylor Swift, Allison Williams, and Jennifer Lawrence often landed on our Best Dressed lists as total show-stoppers, and as we say our last goodbyes to 2013, why not revisit our favorite red carpet fashion moments just one more time?

Absolutely Allison

On top of being a star in the hit HBO series Girls, Allison Williams sure can work a red carpet! Whether donning a flirty Valentino mini, a royal blue Ralph Lauren, or an effortlessly edgy Altuzarra, she is flawless. It’s no wonder we adore her!

Jessica Alba wore Oscar de la Renta like no one else the night of the Golden Globes, decadently adorned in Harry Winston jewels to complete an already killer look. Her coral pink floor-length gown fit like a dream and we can’t wait to see more from this starlet!

Totally Taylor

Taylor Swift is such a star. From teeny-bopper babe to bombshell, it has been inspiring to see her transformation, and last year was definitely her year! From Julien Macdonald to Max Azria, she was constantly stepping up her fashion game and making us swoon!

This gorgeous Gucci gown blew our minds as Blake Lively stepped out for the 2013 Met Gala. The feather details were stunning and the silver bodice fit like a glove!

Just Jennifer

The unexpected queen of 2013, Jennifer Lawrence stole the hearts of America, both with her perfect personality and her fearless fashion! Who could ever forget the breathtaking Dior Couture gown she wore to the Oscars, making even a fall to accept her Best Actress award look stunning? We can’t deny our lifelong girl crush on Miss Lawrence, and we can’t wait to see more captivating red carpet looks!

FashionRed Carpet Ready!

Between The Hurt Locker taking home best picture and Best Actress winner, Sandra Bullock, giving one of the best and funniest acceptance speeches, I could have gone to bed happy after catching the Oscars last night. Yet the red carpet also put on a great show, sporting many pieces that were daring and inventive in all the right ways. Here are just a couple of my favorite looks:

Show Stopping Skirts

Love it or hate it, most couldn’t keep their eyes off of Zoe Saldana’s ruffled lavender hemline. Another head turner was Vera Farmiga’s sculpted waves of fuchsia which fanned perfectly down the skirt. Also, soft and flowy ruffled tiers of fabric looked feminine and romantic on stars like Elizabeth Banks.

Dazzling Details

Sandra Bullock’s bejeweled bodice was so elegant, especially paired with her perfect red pout and sleek hair. Charming Carey Mulligan truly pulled off the whimsical detailing of forks and keys on her black strapless Prada. I loved it, and hey, it makes a great conversation piece!

Pretty Prints

Rachel McAdams sported a strapless beauty that looked like a breathless watercolor painting while Maggie Gyllenhaal looked cool, chic and stylishly put together in her vibrant printed bodice.

NewsLadies We Love: Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep black & white portrait wearing hatIf you loved to hate Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada or were charmed by the bold cooking antics of Julia Child in Julie & Julia, then you have encountered the amazing talent of the one and only Meryl Streep.

From the Bridges of Madison County to her most recent film, It’s Complicated, Ms. Streep has never ceased to keep me coming back to her films. I always appreciate the way she transforms herself for each role so that you suddenly forget you are watching Meryl Streep and become completely involved with her character.

Send good vibes her way for this year’s Academy Awards, in which she is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Julie & Julia!
