FashionBo Stanley: Curvy Icon and Carefree Surfer!

A model and surfer sponsored by Billabong and other surfing brands, Bo Stanley has been featured as Vogue Italia‘s most recent Curvy Icon for her fresh beauty, passion for life and the outdoors, and her embrace of a healthy, natural body.
Here’s how Vogue describes her (yeah, Vogue . . . so cool!):
Her toned, curvy body helps her to compete at the highest levels and is also a perfect synthesis of beauty, health and naturalness. Bo Stanley, who was born and brought up in Carpinteria, is an authentic Californian beauty: a blonde in a bikini, with a curvy, sporty physique and natural charm. It’s a far cry from the stereotype of artificial beauty, the product of the obsession with plastic surgery . . .
Bo has also recently worked with the Healthy Is the New Skinny campaign to help transform negative body images and promote self-acceptance for natural beauty and healthy living. Such a cool project – you can check it out onFacebook, too.
Just from her pictures, Bo seems like the kind of girl you’d want to hang out with all the time. Check out her blog and her website, and I think you’ll find she’s just as cool as she is beautiful.

FashionOracle Fox for Billabong!

One of my favorite bloggers has collaborated with world famous surf-brand, Billabong to create an amazing collection of pieces! Mandy Shadforth of the Oracle Fox blog has been a long time favorite of mine.
She has a unique style, sort of like the most rad surfer girl you know meets gypsy badass! Teaming up with Billabong seems like an easy fit and the pieces shown have been absolutely awesome! We were lucky enough to get our hands on some here at LuLu*s, take a look below for a few of the pieces.
Perfect lightweight knit for winter layering or even for throwing in your suitcase in preparation for your tropical getaway!
I love the black and white pattern and the oversize shape! Perfect to throw on and be casual, yet still look super cool!
Who doesn’t love chambray? I do, and these shorts are an ideal cover up while at the beach!
Lace-covered short shorts! Throw on a crop top and you’re ready for a beach day!
Make sure to check out the Oracle Fox blog for some amazing photos, designer collection coverage and endless edgy-boho style!

FashionAloha from Hawai’i!

Dear Diary:

Aloha from Hawai’i!! I have traveled … well, more like hopped across the ocean … to the island of O’ahu in Hawai’i for spring break.

O’ahu is the most populated island in Hawai’i and boasts both big-city fashion and remote jungle hiking. I am here to visit my sister, who lives on the tip top of St. Louis Heights, overlooking the volcanic Diamond Head crater and the city of Honolulu (the picture to the left is the view from her deck).

The sun that glares off of the beaches and the brilliant blue water around the island has inspired a week of fashionable dressing in the brightly colored patterns that reign so heavily this season.

Here is the first day of a visual fashion diary of my vacation in O’ahu. Photography by Daniel Noval. Modeled by the greatest of gals, Molly and Sierra. And styled by me with clothes from’s What’s New and Vintage sections, along with a few pieces I designed myself. Accessories range from vintage finds to Claire Fong’s wonderful leather, feather and fringe earrings.

You can recreate this look with the Mona Bandeau Dress by Billabong and the Fly South Earrings by Claire Fong.
