You may know Jemima Kirke from HBO’s hit show Girls, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for this It Girl! Not only does she rock it as an artist and an actress, but we love Kirke for her uber cool and carefree fashion sense.Boho Beauty: With her long locks full of beachy waves, and an apparent love for crushed velvet and printed silks, Jemima Kirke is a true Boho beauty! About Face: Kirke tends to rock a more natural look by sporting a perfectly stained pout while going easy on the eye makeup.

Artistic Vision: Jemima Kirke fell into acting by accident and considers herself an artist first and actress second, her main squeeze being oil and watercolor portraits. In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Kirke says that her particular style of painting “keeps the reaction immediate and free. Working this way allows me not to be exacting or to second guess myself.”

Character Counts: The character “Jessa” on Girls is based on Kirke herself, and she openly admits to her time spent as a wild child. At age 27, Kirke is now married and a mother of two, with successful careers as both an artist and actress.

As if I didn’t already adore her enough, the interview that accompanies this ethereal photo shoot is chock full of little gems like this: “If I were an older man and I saw a girl my age, who maybe didn’t know herself that well, I would find her so unappealing… But when I see a woman in her 40s and up, I think, God, you know a lot. One day, I’ll get to be desired like you.“

If you happen to notice Rihanna walking around with another feather in her cap, it’s because she added one for “fashion designer”, thanks to her much-anticipated collection for River Island, which debuted last week at London Fashion Week. Nineties influences prevailed, with throwback pieces like an overalls-inspired top, skirts with attached shirts tied around the waist, crop tops, and a crazy pair of “double-top jeans” that you have to see to believe. Every now and then, when the universe feels like being gracious, a truly beautiful man (er vampire… er dwarf?!) is sprung upon us.
And it’s often when we least expect it!
Case in point: Aidan Turner.

Where you may know him: Currently starring as Kíli, a delectable dwarf in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Also played a vampiric babe with a taste for blood in the original British version of Being Human.
Upcoming: Aidan will star as Luke Garroway in the film adaptation of the popular young adult series The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Why We’re Crushin’: Aside from the obvious curly locks, pouty lips, and those eyes (Oh, those eyes!), this handsome Irishman has some serious acting chops. Whether he’s playing a tortured, brooding vampire or a cheerful resident of Middle-earth, he is both captivating, convincing, and utterly dreamy. We are more than thrilled that he is signed on for not one but two sequels to The Hobbit, because the big screen does Aidan Turner gooooood.

Penelope Cruz is radiant (as always) in red for this gorgeous calendar shoot for Italian alcohol brand Campari, shot by photographer Kristian Schuller. The “Kiss Superstition Goodbye” theme places Ms. Cruz in various “unlucky” positions, laughing in the face of fable as she kneels down to say “hello” to a clowder of black cats, or tip-toes along a crack in the pavement. All the while she manages to spill not a drop of her cocktail. Now that’s a lady.

The coveted September Issue is even more special this year, as it marks the 120th anniversary of everything Vogue. To mark this milestone, only the most stylish models, actors, designers, singers, and fashion personalities contributed to this GORGEOUS editorial spread, shot all over the world by Norman Jean Roy. Their connection: they’re all under 45, and they’re all making fashion happen right this very moment. The best part is matching the faces to the names, which is much easier when you follow this for reference. And for those of you who don’t need to peek at a glossary, I salute you.

Total perfection. But I guess that’s why it’s VOGUE. Happy 120th!

A Chloë Moment! Miu Miu Ad Campaigns Then and Now

She’s at it again! It’s sweet sixteen for 37 year-old fashion icon, Chloë Sevigny, marked by her second run in a Miu Miu ad campaign. That’s right, back in 1996 Chloë graced Miu Miu’s very minimalist campaign, turned out in ’90s plaids, fitted shirts, and issuing a subtle yet playful skater-girl chic.

The Fall/Winter 2012 campaign, on the other hand, grasps a metropolitan, tech-fueled era with electric pops of color burning through menswear-inspired suit jackets, collared shirts, and ties.
