FashionStars are out for Paris Fashion Week

Celebs are out and about for Fashion Week in Paris!  These are a couple of my favorite looks from this week!

Jessica Alba looked beautiful at the Christain Dior show.  Her Dior dress was a light, floral that left her looking fresh and glowing. She kept her look clean with minimal hoop earrings, a braided beige belt, and white, peep toe heels.

Now for something completely different….

Taking a break from shooting “Gossip Girl”, Leighton Meester showed up to the Chanel show with this striking look. The classic Chanel silhouette was given an extreme makeover comprised of leather trimmed with gold fabric and black beads (not exactly practical during a heat wave). The look is topped off with bulky, black bracelets matching the tasseled statement necklace and open toe ankle boots from Christian Louboutin. It can’t be denied that she looks amazing!

Have you been keeping up fashion week?  What have been your favorite looks?

FashionOoh la lovin’ these Parisian Bloggers!

The Cherry Blossom Girl
Alix (above) created her gorgeous blog in 2007. Spending part of her time in Paris and part in Versailles, this talented designer has a wealth of gorgeous and inspiring photos, detailing her love of fashion, travel, beauty and Chanel! The shots above were taken at a 50’s-style diner in Paris. Gotta love the burst of color, her red heels and that yummy sundae!! Check out The Cherry Blossom Girl for more fantastic and captivating posts!
Alma Luna
I couldn’t stop scrolling through post after post of Alma’s amazing blog. A vibrant student in Paris, her posts detail a life of adventure and fun with fashion. Her outfits were seriously so inspiring, I’m now filled with ideas of how to revamp my wardrobe. The photo above was taken on the streets of Paris, and honestly couldn’t look more chic.
Le Blog de Big Beauty
Stylin’ Stephanie of Le Blog de Big Beauty is a gem of a find. Actress, model and fashionista, Stephanie is redefining what is means to be a larger woman in French culture. She even offers courses for women on how to dress to flatter their curves. I love how she plays with color in her outfits, and I’d kill for her amazing shoe collection! FashionModel Off Duty: Frida Gustavsson

I want to introduce you to one of my favorite up-and-coming models: Frida Gustavsson. This 17-year-old, 5’11” Stockholm native is a self-proclaimed geek, but is a natural on both the runway and on film. In January, she walked for Valentino, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Christian Dior, and Chanel in spring couture shows in Paris.

Frida is not only a force on the runway, but also off. Below are some example of her laid back, but chic, style.

FashionI Wanna Be A Chanel SNOW BUNNY!

As the scrims rolled up and revealed the Chanel girls on an iceberg in the center of the Grand Palais in Paris I can only imagine the sound of gasps echoing throughout the building. In a dream, Karl Lagerfeld envisioned his Fall 2010 collection shown on models walking through melting ice caps and, as if in a dream, the spectators in Paris watched as ice caps melted around a brilliant collection of clothes.

Karl Lagerfeld has put his Chanel snow bunnies smack dab in the middle of of the global warming conversation. Literally, as the models were walking through the ice caps they were melting and water was collecting on the cat walk. As they walked through the water getting their faux fur boots (yes I did say faux) wetter and wetter.

This is a very blatant reminder that yes things are heating up and melting away. In the meantime dressing for warmth couldn’t get more fun than these chunky layered furlicious outfits. As for innovation, Lagerfeld took knitwear to a new level, especially in the last white tulle chiffon knit gowns.

FashionSmooth Sailing in Stripes

Celebrate summer with a little retro flair, sporting one of the most classic and glamorous prints of all times: stripes!

Stripes are effortless and chic. From Chanel to beach bunny, you can pull off this look with just the right pair of shades and that perfect little summer tote.

My new favorite way to sport the trend is with this old black and white turtle neck I found at a thrift shop. I cut out the neck and now sport it as an off-the-shoulder top with some red lipstick, skinny jeans and black ballet flats.

The possibilities with stripes are endless. Oversized, boat-necked, an easy breezy tank or that perfect striped sunhat – pick your favorite and you’ll put the “star” in stars and stripes.

Hoping to get your hands on the trend? Our Racing Stripes Crop Top is a hip take on the look for those who like to show off a little mid-section. The softness of the Summer at the Hamptons Dress is both feminine and unique while bold navy and white stripes make the Nice and Nautical Top a true classic. I can just picture it with a high waisted skirt or ruby red flats!
