The Fairy Face Palette by PixiGlow

For the young or young at heart, the Fairy Face Palette by PixiGlow is as useful as it is playful. Besides channeling your inner Tinkerbell, the set includes a variety of eye shadows, blush, and lip color “. . . inspired by budding roses, berry nectars and dew at dawn.” Sounds good to me!

The eye shadows are definitely my favorite, offering a touch of rosy shimmer that completely avoids the puffy, red-eye look some pink shadows can give you. There are also enough shades to create the ever-popular smoky eye look, and the set includes a mirror large enough to see your entire face. Five shades of lip cream are smooth and glossy, adding a touch of color to brighten the lip, and the overall fold-out case is so whimsical I’m rather charmed by it all. This palette would be a great take-along for any girl who likes a sweet minimal look, and is totally gift-worthy.

What happens when you quit your day job after 10 years as an animator for Disney? Jerry Wayne Downs worked on classics like Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, The Sword in the Stone, and The Jungle Book before leaving it behind to focus on his painting. I’m sure his whimsical work would put a big smile on ol’ Walt’s face.

Be whisked back to the land of Fantasia with this beautifully rendered concept art. Fauns, nixies, lyre birds and a herd of pegasus frolic and swim in an enchanted vision that would later become the motion picture.

Rainbow pools and gazebos at dusk are so absolutely stunning; I can only dream of being there.

Okay, ladies, Halloween is drawing near. Do you have your costume planned out yet?

Well, if you’re running low on time and ideas, you have to give this little video a look. One of my new favorite YouTube makeup gurus, Michelle Phan, has put together a gorgeous tutorial on the classic Disney Snow White look.

Even if you already have your costume in mind, this video is still worth a view. I love the way she really embodies Snow White.
