FashionStore Haus: Constance Jablonski for Vogue Latin America

Even if you don’t enjoy grocery shopping, you’re about to get swept down the aisle with model Constance Jablonski as she peruses over pineapples and carries on with the cabbages. Purple prints (like Dolce & Gabbana’s eggplant dress) create a pastel frenzy that camouflages well within busy grocery aisles and produce stands. Jean Francois Campos photographs.

FashionAnother “Dazzling” Spread from Vogue Italia

Less is more. . . right?

Well, leave it to the incredible wiles of Dolce & Gabbana and the artistry of the world renowned photographer, Steven Meisel, to show us very emphatically that More is More!
In this March cover shoot for Vogue Italia entitled “Dazzling,” stunning hues and bold combinations are romantically dimmed with low-lighting and rich Rococo decor. Frenzied patterns are accentuated with tall strappy shoes, pom-poms and colorful light bulbs arranged into antler-like headdresses. (Now that was a bright idea).
The models are a crisp meld of glowing beauty and geeky-chic, leading us even farther into the world of layering. See the rest of “Dazzling” if you dare!

Did you find Waldo? Just kidding, but seriously, the amount of detail in these pictures is wonderfully engaging. What is it that sticks out most to you?

FashionKylie Minogue Styled by Dolce & Gabbanna!

Ever wonder what it’s like to be styled by not just one, but TWO brilliant designers?

Kylie Minogue is a seasoned diva who’s reached the stars and is now headed for the outerlying galaxies in her Aphrodite “Les Foiles” world tour this year. Clad head to toe in sparkling, feathered, shining, transparent, and golden numbers designed specially for her by Dolce & Gabbana themselves, Minogue is living out every little girl’s dream.

Above, lounging about with the world renowned designers and flaunting her new oufit, as well as her lovely stems, this woman really knows how to shine!

It is this golden corset (above) that is the base of almost all of her outfits. What a great stylistic choice made by Dolce & Gabbanna for this tour. Without a doubt Kylie Minogue, has to change outfits many, many times throughout every set. This way, she just throws pieces over her gold corset for dramatic effect. See the video below for a behind the scenes of her fittings.

You can tell from the way she interacts with the costumes, that Kylie Minogue is a true performer, so at ease with her body and its movements.

Anyone going to see her perform for the Aphrodite “Les Foiles” tour?

FashionColor Theory: Bazaar UK February 2011 Rocks Our Sense of Color!

Embracing the key trends of Spring 2011 and spurred mostly by Gucci’s Spring 2011 Ready To Wear show, this editorial for Harper’s Bazaar UK February 2011 really does rock our sense of color theory. Photographer Nobert Schoerner hits the spot in every photo!

Above, model Ruby Aldrige, sets the scene of sophisticated luxury in a satin Gucci jumpsuit.

Hot, on and off the runway, this Yves Saint Laurent gown is gravity defiant and out-of-this world cool.

In contrast with the blues and greens of the outside world, the interior life of this woman is wrapped in the warmth of Miu Miu and all shades of yellows, oranges, and reds.

Chloé is helplessly 70′s and should be presented as so. Here, I can barely tell that this was actually shot this year!

Who wouldn’t want to take a mid-day stretch in a chartreuse gown in a luxury house this beautiful?

Walks outside are made easy in this split Lanvin maxi dress! I wish!

I never thought I’d see a Dolce & Gabbanna mini dress used for a mid-day cool off… but then again why not?

In my favorite shot, a brilliant shade of blue and the exquisite cut out panels on the side of this gown are framed in parched desert browns.

GeneralWhat’s Your Signature Scent?

Perfume is a funny thing. While it’s extremely personal (umm…it’s what you smell like), it’s also very public (everyone else can smell it too).
Choosing a scent to make your own is almost like a journey of self discovery. Am I a sugary vanilla sweetie or a sultry smoky vixen? Do I bathe in the stuff or just put a tiny dollop behind each ear?
I love perfume, considering it doesn’t reek or burn my nostrils. When tastefully applied, it can make you feel more glamorous, put togther and even make memories. Certain perfumes will always remind me of a specific time in my life. Getting ready to go to the 8th grade dance, my college dorm experience, that summer vacation by the beach…a scent can bring you back in an instant.

So here’s a couple of the Lulu*s staff favorites, and I must say, we smell pretty darn good.

 The Glamorous
The timeless Coco Chanel is a staple of the ever posh Heather (photo assistant), while the ruby red Absolutely Irresistible by Givenchy is a favorite often worn by yours truly. I love to get the roll-on tube because it’s more affordable, and you can just keep it in your purse. :)

The Exotic

A great collection of scents by Tokyo Milk keeps Lulu*s model, Laura, smelling lovely during photo shoots. Kellen (Web Operations Manager) loves her Sensi perfume from Giorgio Armani. A sensual scent with exotic floral tones, this would be perfect for an evening out.
 The Fresh and Floral

I’ve only heard great things about the popular Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, a scent Renee (returns Dept) adores. Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue is described as being cheerful, crisp and summery, which is perfect for Shandi (customer service) on her typical Mon-Fri work week.
The Sporty

Jonathan (inventory) keeps on his feet with Allure Homme Sport by Chanel, while Brittani (sample girl) loves her Abercrombie & Fitch 8 and even steals some of her boyfriend’s Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce from time to time.
The Naturalist

For those who prefer an earthier, natural scent, take a hint from Matt (inventory) and use a little Patchouli essence. I also love how both Sienna (copy writer) and Marty (photographer) use a little citrus peel zest to keep things light and fresh.
So what’s your signature scent? What do you think it says about you?
