Style File: The Met Gala 2013

Celebrity, Fashion | 07 May 2013

An annual ball for the unveiling of fabulous Costume Institute exhibits, the Met Gala has been one of the most coveted nights for fashion & celebrity to collide in a most fabulous way since 1948. This red carpet event is held at none other than the infamous Metropolitan Museum, and you can bet that every star does his or her best to wow the crowd! This year’s theme was “PUNK: Chaos to Couture,” and we were definitely witness to some of the edgiest looks to ever hit a red carpet!

Donna Karan Darlings: Emmy Rossum was flawless in bejeweled ivory and makeup to marvel, while Hailee Steinfeld wore an embellished fit ‘n’ flare that was simply perfect with her clever cat-eye!

Feisty in Floor-length: Anne Hathaway not only slayed in her “static” Valentino gown, but she debuted fierce locks that gave her that rocker edge. Allison Williams wore Altuzarra that seemed to melt into the crimson floor, and while it may not be for most, I found her brilliant & bewitching!

Katie Holmes was definitely one of my absolute favorites. She looked nothing shy of stunning while floating upon the red carpet in a white Calvin Klein masterpiece. Elegance has never looked so good!

Cut-out Cuties: Emma Watson never fails to take our breath away, this time looking as chic as ever in a sexy Prabal Gurung dress! Meanwhile, Miranda Kerr bared her bold side in sleek black Michael Kors with daring cut-outs!

Studded Sirens: Cara Delevingne was a Burberry babe in a plunging neckline adorned in spikes, a sultry smoky eye, and a punk rock side part. Jessica Alba was stunning in an embellished Tory Burch dress with studs, strategic cut-outs, and an up-do to adore!

So who was the show stopper of the incredible Met Gala? The always-fabulous Blake Lively, looking seriously gorgeous in a Gucci gown that was delightfully detailed from top to bottom! Silky layers cascaded effortlessly from a beautifully beaded waist, falling gracefully to the floor. From her choice of dramatic earrings that just grazed her shoulders to her sultry sleek pony, Blake was utter perfection in a sea of incredible creatures!

What an event! What a theme! Who took your breath away, ladies?

Blogger Spotlight: Bebe of Fated to be Hated

Fashion | 11 February 2011

The blogging world never ceases to amaze me. There are so many stylish ladies out there with totally inspiring photo sets, creative outfits, and overall star quality. Every girl has a different style and whether it be girly, modern, eclectic, or clean cut, I am equally smitten with their style as long at they have that special eye for details. On that note, let me introduce you to my latest obsession, Bebe of Fated to be Hated.

With a splash of 90′s Norwegian metal mixed with a bit of bohmeian gypsy, Bebe hits spring trends without skipping a beat. Her own eclectic style always shines through even while skipping playfully throughout different looks and trends.

This photo in particular was my favorite. Bringing me back to 8th grade in 1995, I absolutely had to post it.

Channeling Heathers, a cult classic movie from 1988, as well as Cher Horowitz from Clueless, Bebe effortlessly pulls off what many could not.

With an already impressive resume, Bebe has been featured in Seventeen Magazine and has been shot by known party photographer, The Cobra Snake. She even modeled vintage looks for The Cobra Shop, a store run by the noted photographer. Make sure to check out her blog and get ready to get addicted!

Blogger Spotlight: Mandy of Oracle Fox

Blogger Spotlight is back! With a focus on Valentine’s Day, my favorite day of the week was on a brief hiatus. Now we are back with a blogger so talented and stylish that it was beyond worth the wait. Let me introduce you to Mandy Shadforth of the amazing Oracle Fox. This is a daily read for me and my close friends. It is a magical mix of great photography and spot-on styling. Mandy, hailing from Australia, not only makes flawless wardrobe choices but happens to be an amazing artist. Her range scopes from the super-realistic to mixing mythic images with astrological symbols. Her work is beyond captivating, so make sure to check it out here. Lets take a look at her some of my favorite images from her site.

Above is one of Mandy’s casual sketches that she posted on her blog. Her paintings are far more elaborate and realistic, but I just loved this super sweet hippie-love-child sketch with the beautiful desert background.

Obsessed with these leggings! The metal beading and sheer fishnet is a total homerun and I wish they were mine!

You all know I am a serious ring freak. Mandy sports some of the best rings in the blogosphere! I am in love with the large chunks of crystal and silver skulls.

One of Mandy’s specialties is overlaying photographs with images of animals and nature. My favorite is shown above; the horses and her pose are so perfect together.  I am super-obsessed with this blogger and I know you will fall in love once dive into the magical, mythical world of Oracle Fox!

Currently based out of Tokyo, this hugely popular blogger has pages upon pages of beautiful pictures to give you endless inspiration. Let’s take a peek at some of my favorite looks just to give you a hint of how special this blog is.

Gorgeous Miu Miu shoes!

Denni featured in an American Apparel Ad campaign.

I love the play of the black shorts and white maxi against a backdrop of overcast clouds.

Most insanely beautiful vintage 1970′s Yves Saint Laurent cape!  This photo is an absolute vision paired with the YSL Mohawk pumps.

The great thing about Denni is that she features amazing high end clothing styled perfectly and comes across as the sweetest, best-friend-you-haven’t-met! Always cheerful and down to earth this girl writes a blog that is a real pleasure to visit regularly! Make sure to check her out! You will be enamored, I promise!
