Pretty in Paris: Eva Downey for Elle Romania

Fashion | 30 April 2013

by

The city of Paris has found a new muse! Model Eva Downey brings feminine fashions to life behind the camera of Asa Tallgard for Elle Romania’s April cover shoot. With a smoky eye and tousled hair, Downey brings an easy elegance and an almost regal air that truly appears effortless. The clothing features clean lines and muted colors from fabulous designers like Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen, to name a few. Bold, over-sized jewelry completes this look, aptly shot in the fashionable city of Paris. J’adore! ParisParisParis FashionParis

Art Power: Kid Acne for Elle Belgium

Contests | 12 June 2012

by

Cartoonists rejoice: art is not dead, especially if you have a hot girl to draw on. Case in point: this incredible editorial by Brussels-based photographer Hicham Riad, featuring the lovely model Robin Holzken and the artwork of UK-based graffiti artist Kid Acne. Pairing bright pops of color with a flawless summer wardrobe and an assembly of quirky characters, this shoot is the perfect fit for Elle Belgium‘s June 2012 edition. Hair and makeup by the talented Vasko Todorof.

 Enjoy!

When you’re done, check out the behind-the-scenes creation of Kid Acne’s designs for this shoot on his blog. They’re pretty fantastic for one, and I really enjoyed seeing how the photos were made.

Fashion Illustration by Esther Bayer

Art | 04 January 2012

The fashion-based illustrations of Canadian artist, Esther Bayer, are this week’s homage to the inevitable (right?) arrival of spring. Taking inspiration from vintage magazine covers and little trifles like “. . . the colors of two lovely soft pink carnations that were sitting on my kitchen table;” how could you not fall in love with the soft colors and keen brushstrokes that are available in print form at her Etsy shop.

Erin Wasson in Elle France June 2011

Fashion | 13 July 2011

by

In a stunning editorial for Elle France, model Erin Wasson worked with photographer Fred Meylan to create beautiful bohemian images.  Featuring denim, leather fringe and maxis, this shoot was exactly what I needed for some midweek inspiration. Take a look below for some of the best images!
I love the rustic background with the contrast of a maxi and tousled hair.

70′s bohemian style with a perfect oversized cardigan and hat.

I love leather shorts paired with a vintage tee. So perfect for summer.

Fringed pants that only Wasson could pull off! In a vintage car with red interior, this is definitely a rad picture!

James Franco Shoots Agyness Deyn for Elle July 2011

Fashion | 20 June 2011

by

Sometimes, you just see a set of photos that knocks you straight out of your chair. This shoot by James Franco, starring the beautifully androgynous Agyness Deyn, did exactly that. Casually browsing the internet, I came across this gender-bending shoot inspired by James Franco’s catalyst to stardom, James Dean. Capturing a timeless beauty, Franco’s photography is moody and rich in contrast. Always a fan of model Agyness Deyn, I love how these images celebrate her bone structure and stunning presence. Actor, model, filmaker…photographer? What other suprises does James Franco have up his sleeve!? Make sure to pick up July’s issue of Elle for the hard copy of this amazing artwork. I’m literally going to the store now!! Take a look below for the highlights.

A great shot of the photographer himself, in a pretty awesome outfit, I must say!

What do you think of this shoot? Can Franco make it behind the camera, or should he stick to acting?

Did you see these?
