Trend Alert: Black and White Stripes

Fashion | 23 January 2013

by

Okay, so maybe it’s not quite a “trend“, seeing how this awesome color combo in charmingly classic stripes is a tale as old as time, but I will say that black and white stripes are EVERYWHERE at the moment, and I’m lovin’ it. Just take it from Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and your bestie: LuLu*s!

Runway Crush: Louis Vuitton Spring 2013

Fashion | 15 January 2013

by

Despite the two-steps-ahead calendar of the fashion world, I just can’t bring myself to consider spring fashion until the holiday season has ended. Call me old-fashioned. However, the new year is here, so buh-bye winter, bring on the spring! And bring on my absolute favorite Spring fashion show from Louis Vuitton. The checks, the hair, the tailoring, the escalator… LOVE.

Emerging Designer: Stella Jean

Fashion | 10 January 2013

Feast your eyes on the transatlantic conquests of emerging designer Stella Jean and be wowed by the bold batiks paired with checks, stripes, jewels, and a menagerie of animal prints. Unlike most designers, this Italian-born former model pulls the resort card season after season, dishing up savory pattern play tailored with a feminine, fifties sensibility.

Some of my favorite looks from her spring/summer 2013 ready-to-wear collection include studded details along turbans, stacked cuffs, and sky-high heels. Woven hats team with extravagant earrings and collar necklaces to top the clever color combinations that are reminiscent of a bustling marketplace, and a sunny pop of yellow eyeshadow ensures you’re transported directly to a land of warmer-weather and unabashed color.

It Girl: Esther Quek

Fashion | 09 January 2013

If you’ve ever dabbled in the menswear trends (or admired the women who do) it’s time you should meet Esther Quek. It comes as no surprise that Esther Quek is the fashion director of menswear magazine The Rake, but what IS surprising is her uncanny ability to pull together a tailored blazer, slacks, loafers, ties, and a seriously short haircut, while still looking fabulously feminine.

Blogger Spotlight: Ashleigh of The Daileigh

Fashion | 03 January 2013

Ashleigh, of The Daileigh is one cool chick. Residing in Maryland and blogging her heart out; her style is all about clean lines and trendy statement pieces. Chartreuse skinny jeans? Check! Army jacket? Check! Spike accessories and rad statement necklaces? Check! I love visually interesting outfits with a splash of color or an extra detail that makes it special and Ashleigh is a pro at that! Take a look below, the proof is all there!

I love this spiked jacket paired with a metallic clutch and patent shoes. It makes an all black ensemble sparkle with bits of interest!

Perfect color play!

Crisp white shirt and Louboutin’s? Absolute do! Such a classic look. I love the plaid clutch to keep it playful and interesting.

This is a great coat for staying warm and cute all winter. The drop waist ruffle and the peek of red lining are adorable details.

White on white is super chic and always in style. Love the spike clutch to keep the look fresh and young.

Sparkle sleeve army jackettttttt….you are my dream coat. Come to me.

Camo is choice…all year, all the time. Love it as a clutch and love it even more with those lucite heels, baby-baby! Ooo weee.
