DJ Mia Moretti at Coachella!!!

Fashion | 28 April 2010

<!–Our favorite DJ MIA MORETTI has been super busy and is probably still recovering from Coachella, where she played up a storm. Mia just sent me these pics of her at Coachella keeping the music going on and off the festival.

On the left is Mia DJing at the Indioasis Music Lounge, where she played along side Macy Gray and Sky Ferreira among many others!

Mia is not only a music guru, but a fashionista of the highest kind! I love how Mia stayed LA glamorous while mixing it all up. Mia paired an oversized bright rose red hat with a short and loose cropped top. The tropical printed cut offs keep this outfit funky and the red lipstick matches the bright headband to finish it off.

Below is Mia in a sweet printed tee with Danny Masterson at the Diesel Artist Brunch!

Mia also played at the Music Loves Fashion event with the electric violinist Caitlin Moe! Mia and Caitlin just did a tour together, and I don’t doubt they blew up this party.

And here are some other pics of Mia out and about. First is Mia at the Festival captured by photographer Mark the Cobrasnake. I like her light and loose top with the printed skirt and leather handbag

Below is Mia in a custom Jeremy Scott “Angel Toga” at the Jeremy Scott X Adidas Coachella After-Party.

A Certified Cinderella

With busy days full of stress and concerns over school, work, relationships or a number of other things, life may seem like anything but a fairy tale.

But let’s remember: Cinderella didn’t always have it easy. She was, after all, forced to live in the attic with a gaggle of mice (albeit cute mice) as her only companions.

Like Cinderella, it takes a little special care to make a girl feel more pampered and pretty. Well, Lulu*s is here as your fairy godmother, offering you some cute, Cinderella inspired finds to help you face whatever life throws at you. Prince optional.

A trio of magic is found with the strapless and ruffled Glass Slippers Top, named such as it would go great with a pair of glass slippers. For a more comfy and casual version, try the sparkling Chinese Laundry Northern Lites Smoke Jelly Flat to light up your every step. To top it all off, our With a Twist Headband is nothing short of whimsical.

Now all you need is a sweet ride…

Okay, ladies, some new, awesome and one-of-a-kind vintage items have arrived! Plenty of great looks are up now, and you can expect to see more popping up all week starting Monday.

Kristin, our buyer in L.A., really outdid herself this time. I absolutely love the vintage dresses and long skirts I’m seeing, and they go perfectly with our Coquette Corset Top [sold out!] and Tilda Crochet Headband [sold out!].

Give it a peek and take home a cute new find for your weekend. Happy shopping!

A Little Black Dress for Every Day

Fashion | 31 July 2009

Lulus.com is the perfect place to provide our budgeting fashionistas with the materials they need to make the challenge of taking one fabulous piece and styling it into limitless possibilities. All of us here at LuLu*s have been following The Uniform Project, which takes the concept of transforming the little black dress to a whole new level.

The creator of this site, Sheena Matheiken, has vowed to wear the same black dress for 365 days to support the cause of education in India. In her blog she explains, “I was raised and schooled in India where uniforms were a mandate in most public schools. Despite the imposed conformity, kids always found a way to bend the rules and flaunt a little personality.”

Not only is this a concept for a cause, but it supports the challenge that many of us are living with in this time of economic turmoil and recession, looking chic everyday of the week while keeping it cheap! Also, this is a great example of breaking out of the business attire and school regulated clothing and getting in touch with our own personal fashion.

Lulus.com offers endless possibilities to make this happen! We suggest investing in the BB Dakota Kay dress [sold out!], or for a younger look, the BB Dakota by Jack Nataliaz Dress in Black  [sold out!] for your staple piece. Try mixing in funky leggings, scarves, belts, and headbands to freshen up your look for less! Pieces I am currently loving include the Heartfelt Cardigan in Grey [sold out!], the Smithsonian Necklace [sold out!], the Carefree crop top in taupe [sold out!], and the Peacock Feather Hair Clip [sold out!].

Did you see these?
