GeneralSite to See: Dear Blank, Please Blank

We had this idea for a website, mostly because Hans had a bad experience. So we built it, and now you’re here… Welcome.” That’s Hans, as in Hans Johnson, presumably written by Jared Wunsch, the co-founders of the website that is about to eat the rest of your afternoon. Dear Blank, Please Blank is the best time-waster I’ve found in months (though I am particularly adept at this task).
Since these pictures ARE essentially reading… I’ll keep it short. The content of Dear Blank, Please Blank is user-generated, and pretty self-explanatory, which means that, while predominantly hilarious, it can also be dumb. The best part: because we all want to feel like our opinion matters, DBPB offers these eloquent options for your clicking pleasure: How Dare They, You’re a Douche, Hilarious, I Like This, and Umm, WTF?!. Because sometimes the writer deserves a high-five, and others, a slap to the face.
And if you’re really, really loving this, you can purchase these letterpressed prints from Etsy, in collaboration with Sapling Press (though half of them are just photshopped by DeMilked).

Submissions are moderated by Jared’s cat Louie. If your submissions aren’t being approved, it’s because Louie is now accepting cans of tuna fish as bribes for approvals (four cans usually gets one submission approved.) Alternately, you can try rewriting your submissions, only this time make them funny.

Also, Attack of the Cute. Same guys, different site.

FashionBlogger Spotlight: Julie of Orchid Grey

Happy Wednesday! Time again for my favorite post of the week, Blogger Spotlight! This week I had to give some special attention to Julie from Orchid Grey. I have been a long time reader of Julie’s blog and she has kept me and her many, many readers inspired with daily outfit posts comprised of both vintage and new items. What originally got me into her blog was her tagline, “Big hair, small wallet.” As a girl with hair so big things get lost within it, Julie had me from the very beginning! This month, we were lucky enough to partner up with Julie for an amazing contest with a $100 shopping spree to LuLu*s. See the end of this post for details!

Check out some of my favorite Orchid Grey looks below!

This lady-like dress is perfectly paired with a cardigan and strappy sandals. A clear 1960′s umbrella finishes the look with a touch of playfulness.

Obsessed with these 70′s platforms. Julie, you know who to call if you want to pass those beauties on!

I love the look of the patterned skirt with the chocolate brown tights. Great color combinations!

Staying on trend in a midi skirt, Julie adds her own special touch by choosing a vintage floral pattern.

Looking perfect in a LuLu*s maxi, Julie adds strappy buckled platforms for a polished look.

I love the bright pop of orange handbag paired with the deep blue patterened skirt.

Julie has a real eye for color combinations and patterns, and to top it off, her writing is funny and super engaging! One of the many bloggers I hope to meet in person one day, you feel like you have a friend in her just by being a reader! Make sure to hop on over to Orchid Grey to get some inspiration and to say “Hello!”

FashionBlogger Spotlight: Kendi of Kendi Everyday

For this week’s blogger spotlight, I wanted to shine the attention on the lovely Kendi from the popular blog Kendi Everyday. You may have heard me mention her before or have seen some pictures of her featured on this blog. I, of course, am a huge fan, and if you haven’t heard of her before, allow me to introduce you to her awesome outfits and super silly sense of humor.

Kendi is a master at color mixing, and as you can see above, she is not afraid to add splashes of vibrant tones to each outfit.

Ladylike skirts and perfectly-hued blouses are finished with accentuating accessories such as a striped belt or a platform sandal. I love how Kendi takes simple pieces in great colors, then adds sweet accessories such as a beautiful leather belt or a handbag with floral detailing.

This army green vest gives the perfect military touch and pairs with the chunky jewelry and nude heels just right.

Anyone who knows me knows my affinity for a good flare, and Kendi is rocking these with some serious style! I love how she made the look casual and so chic with the striped sweater, then added a funky twist by throwing in a floral pattern. She always manages to look so crisp yet easygoing.

If you are as impressed with Kendi’s color-saturated and playful wardrobe as I am, make sure to check out her blog and show some love!
