The Perfect Valentine's Date: Chocolate!

General | 27 January 2011

by

I’ve never been stood up by chocolate.

I know there are some out there who would turn their noses up at the scientifically proclaimed “food of the gods,” but hey, majority rules!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and the romantic exchanges of chocolate and flowers pending, I thought I’d give a little shout out to some of our LuLu*s warehouse favorites. (Hint, hint)

I think it’s also a good chance to post a pic of my new bathtub!

Ok, I’m just kidding, but these fine fellas helped create this 350 lb. chocolate heart for the American Heart Association on Valentine’s Day, 1990. Wow!

Here are some of our Staff Favorites:

Resse’s: A big fav in the warehouse – cups or pieces will do!

Nutella: It seems Hazelnut and Chocolate were simply made for each other, and Simbala in receiving says the best thing about this chocolaty spread is you can get away with eating it in the morning!
See’s Candy Bordeaux: These were my favorite as a kid, and our operations manager, Kellen, didn’t hesitate to name these classics!

Lindor Balls by Lindt: These creamy, truffle-like candies have a smooth center and come in a variety of flavors!

Anything with Chili Powder: Milk or Dark, our Live Chatter, Whitley, loves the subtle warming effect of a Mayan-inspired treat!

Chicken Mole: I had to nominate this dish, which is smothered in a complex sauce of red chili, tomato and a bit of dark chocolate. If you haven’t tried it, you must!!!

Chocolate Cheesecake: Renee in the returns department pairs hers with fresh berries!

German Chocolate Cake: Charlene (one of the darling gals in our processing and shipping dept.) went for the cake. Why not? More to share!

Your Turn!
Tell us what your favorites are, and where you go to get your Valentine’s goodies!!!
