1. Cut your sponge into whatever shape you desire! We went with easy-peasy rectangles and triangles, but feel free to get creative!

2. Dip your sponge into the fabric paint and dab it onto a clean part of the plate to ensure you have even coverage.

3.  Start stamping! You can stamp your shapes with even spaces in between to create a cohesive pattern, or spread them out at random to create an abstract arrangement. Try putting a couple different colored stamps in here and there for a fun pop of color!

GeneralGalentine’s Day Guide

VDayBlogHeaderGalentinesGuide2February 14th gets plenty of hype, but all too often people forget about the importance of celebrating your gal pals . . . that’s where Galentine’s Day comes in! February 13th, or Galentine’s Day, is all about celebrating your female friendships. What’s the best way to celebrate? By throwing a little Galentine’s brunch bash and inviting all your besties! We’ve got a few tips to help make this Galentine’s Day the best one yet!

1) Heart-Shaped Deliciousness: You’d be amazed how many different foods can be made in the shape of a heart! We recommend you invest in some heart cookie cutters and get creative. Pancakes, french toast, eggs, fruit, doughnuts, all these brunch classics (and more!) can be turned into Galentine’s themed treats.

2) Signature Sippers: Mimosas are the quintessential brunch beverage, so give then a Galentine’s twist by using ruby red grapefruit juice or cranberry juice instead of the traditional OJ. Or, skip the champagne all together and try mixing juice with the clear soda of your choice to add some bubbly fun. Don’t forget to garnish! We say go with some sweet strawberries, or take a little inspo from our first tip and garnish with a piece of heart shaped melon.

3) Creative Cards: Show your gal pals how much their friendship matters with a homemade Galentine’s Day card. You can look for inspiration from famous besties (you’re the Anne Perkins to my Leslie Knope!), or break out the doilies and red paper and make something that captures the style of the season. Either way, gifting your girls with a little homemade card is a heartfelt way to let them know you care!

Summertime is party time, and  here at LuLu*s, we love a good outdoor party game! Check out some of our favorite games and try them out at your next backyard bash!

Games

Bocce Ball

“Summertime means breaking out the bocce ball set and playing casually in the warm evenings. Originating in Italy, this sport is professionally played on crushed oyster shells (so fancy!). If you can’t find a court, it is just as much fun to play on a level field of grass. We dare you to challenge our boss to a game; she’s the one to beat!” – Brittany, Buyer

Never played bocce? Find out how to play here!

Spikeball

“Spikeball is a great way to have fun with your friends anywhere! The portable equipment and simple set up makes it perfect for fun on the go. It’s a quirky mix of volleyball and four square that can be played in pairs. It’s easy to catch on, but definitely a challenge to become a pro!” — Amy, Customer Service

Cornhole

“My favorite backyard game is cornhole. Growing up in Wisconsin, we called it ‘bags.’ I love playing it at tailgates and BBQs with family and friends. It’s especially fun when my friends and I beat the boys!” — Lauren, Customer Service

Cornhole is fun and easy to learn! Check out the rules here.
