FashionDolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 Ad Campaign

It’s been a great season for ad campaigns, but I must say, this Dolce and Gabbana masterpiece for the Fall 2012 collection is a major front runner for my favorite. The fashion alone is GORGEOUS, but it’s the contrast of the bustling sidewalks and family gathering feel that add the warmth to make this one extra special.

ArtStreet Stone: Turning Stone Statues Into Stone Cold Foxes

And here I thought Photoshop was just for fixing zits… That’s right, artists Léo Caillard and Alexis Persani didn’t actually sneak into the Louvre and carefully style these centuries-old statues. I’ll let you in on a little secret: Caillard came up with the concept, photographed the statues themselves, then dressed his friends in the outifts you see below, and posed them to look just like our friends in stone have been standing for all these years. That’s where Alexis Persani provides his magical retouching skills to take Caillard’s models out and carefully “dress” the classics in the latest casual menswear. The result: Street Stone. It was about time these guys had a little wardrobe intervention, am I right?

GeneralDowntown From Behind

Have you ever visited a city and wished you had more time to stay and get to know the locals? Well, now you can in New York City! Sort of.
Downtown From Behind is a photographic series that aims to document subjects riding their bikes, on streets, avenues, and lanes below 14th street and captures them visually as they depart from view. Both established and emerging individuals are chosen, leaving a sense of their daily contributions to a bustling city scene!

GeneralEnchanting Wisteria Tunnel of Kawachi Fuji Gardens, Japan

No, these aren’t paintings you’re looking at! These are the totally unreal photos taken of the Wisteria Tunnel at Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan. From April to May, this beautiful tunnel explodes with magnificent color and look as if it was taken from some fairytale fantasy.
Imagine yourself walking through this lush wonderland of beautiful flowers . . . absolutely breathtaking.
I really need to book a trip to Japan, ASAP! Who’s coming with me?!

CelebrityCharmed by Audrey: Life on the Set of Sabrina

If any of you have seen the 1954 Oscar-winning film Sabrina, you’ll know that Audrey Hepburn was her ever-timeless, beautiful self all throughout the film. When I stumbled upon this incredible stash of behind-the-scenes shots by photographer Mark Shaw, I thought, “Oh – maybe we’ll see what magic movie star looks like when they’re having a bad hair day.” Sadly, it’s not the case. I don’t think Miss Hepburn could have a bad day if she tried.
Entitled Charmed by Audrey, these photos were originally shot for a feature in Life magazine to capture all her daily movements, from hair-washing to acting to studying her script. Surprisingly, most of the originals were lost for over fifty years and it wasn’t until 2008 that Shaw’s first wife found them hidden away in dusty boxes and had them published. I just love these pictures! Her mega-watt smile literally lights up everyone, and they give us some really neat insight to the Hollywood of the Golden Era.
Thank goodness for inquisitive women! Enjoy!
Who knew superstars washed their own cars?!
I’m kinda diggin’ the flamingo bedspread in the background!
