In the April ’13 issue of L’Officiel Paris, Lana Del Rey gets romantic  in high-fashion and haunting imagery. Shrouded beautifully in Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, and other designers to swoon over, Del Rey plays the part of a Spanish widow in mourning, all the while looking stunning. Lana’s bold red lip is eye-catching, and there’s just something about her statement looks that make this spread so fabulous.

Here at LuLu*s we are ready for spring to come our way! With frost on the windows and mugs of tea we are sitting cozy and dreaming of fresh-cut grass and light, airy clothing. I have put together some spring, pastel inspiration to get us through these chilly mornings and to ring in the New Year with the optimism of a budding flower!

Happy Friday! It is definitely time for some more weekend inspiration! This beauty is the inspiration for millions of fashion blogs and was one of the first blogs I got really into years back. Meet Alix of The Cherry Blossom Girl! This fashion designer from Paris has somewhat of a dream life! You will know what I mean when you visit her amazing site.  She has been blogging since 2007 and has evolved into one of the most influential fashion bloggers in the world.  Alix captures romantic, soft focus pictures that make life look like a darling dream. Feminine and delicate, her amazing photography is the first thing that pops into my mind when I need something sweet. It’s like a fashion fairy tale for those of us girls who love pretty things and refuse to grow up!

Are these images inspiring you to do something special this weekend? Maybe you can make some homemade holiday decorations, take a stroll at dusk or enjoy tea with a favorite friend? Whatever you decide to do, make it your goal to capture the beauty around you as Alix does with every shot. The way the light streams through your room, a stack of old books, your grandmothers antique jewels. Whether you are into photography or not, at least take a mental note of the beauty that surrounds us all.  Create a catalogue in your brain of all the little things that inspire you, then you can draw from it when life lacks a little luster.
