CelebrityA Chloë Moment! Miu Miu Ad Campaigns Then and Now

She’s at it again! It’s sweet sixteen for 37 year-old fashion icon, Chloë Sevigny, marked by her second run in a Miu Miu ad campaign. That’s right, back in 1996 Chloë graced Miu Miu’s very minimalist campaign, turned out in ’90s plaids, fitted shirts, and issuing a subtle yet playful skater-girl chic.
The Fall/Winter 2012 campaign, on the other hand, grasps a metropolitan, tech-fueled era with electric pops of color burning through menswear-inspired suit jackets, collared shirts, and ties.

DIYDIY: Studded Shoes!

I hope you guys are ready for yet another stud-ly DIY project because this one is my favorite and I almost couldn’t wait to share it with you! Studded shoes add sass to any outfit and they can be worn so many ways that having a pair in your closet is a must. When studding shoes, it’s important to pick a pair with thin enough material to push the studs through. I chose to stud the outsides of these cute oxford heels with some gold star-shaped studs mixed in with tiny pyramid studs and they became an instant favorite.

Materials needed:
  • Various shapes/sizes of studs
  • Clothing item you’d like to stud (cardi, denim cutoffs, booties, etc.)

DIYDIY: Studded Shorts!

Sometimes it’s easy to get bored with things in our closets, but before you start making a donate pile, consider studding! Studding is such an easy way to spruce up an old item. Almost any item can be studded but the trick is finding the best way to arrange the studs on whatever piece you use. I took this pair of shorts and arranged a pretty pattern of pyramid and heart-shaped studs to give them an edgy look while still keeping the feminine flair.

Materials needed:
  • Various shapes/sizes of studs
  • Clothing item you’d like to stud (cardi, denim cutoffs, booties, etc.)

Here are some more in depth instructions just in case:
  1. Map out your preferred arrangement of studs on the piece you’re studding and take a photo of it. Use the photo as a guide to make sure that you keep the spacing/pattern consistent throughout the piece.
  2. Press and attach studs according to your guide. Don’t forget to push the prongs in using a flat, hard tool like the end of a screwdriver or the end of a butter knife to make sure that they don’t poke out.
Don’t be afraid to get really creative with your stud patterns. You don’t even have to limit yourself to standard pyramid studs. Use heart or star-shaped studs to make your piece extra cute or add spikes for a fierce Gaga-esque look.

FashionCannes Film Festival Fashion

The 65th Annual Cannes Film festival just kicked off its eleven-day event, bringing actors and filmmakers from far and wide. While we’re definitely excited for upcoming films, we’re even more interested in what our favorite stars are wearing!
From Jessica Chastain to Fan Bingbing, the styles were gorgeous giving Cannes a very fashionable start!
Eva Longoria looked absolutely stunning in this Marchesa gown with a beautiful train. I choo choo choose this as a favorite look!
Jessica Chastain’s red locks wow against her sparkly white gown, while Marion Cotillard looks sultry and sweet in her chiffon gown.
Model Natasha Poly wore one of my favorite looks from Gucci’s runway, and the blush-colored gown Naomi Watts wore also brought some train love.
Actress Chen Ting Jia’s gown was really a showstopper, especially when she turned around. Wowzas!
Diane Kruger looked perfectly elegant in her flowing gown, while Freida Pinto looked pretty in her pink beaded dress.
Last, but not least my favorite Fan Bingbing arrived in a beautiful beaded number. According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, her hair was styled as a symbol of the Tang dynasty’s noble women and the gown was embroidered with stories of the four beauties of ancient China. I’d love to see it in person!
