FashionLooks We Love: Shift Dresses for Summer

The time of triple digit temperatures is upon us, so dare I ask, what is a girl to wear? Shift dresses are possibly the easiest style solution for all seasons, with a simple, A-frame shape that gives you room to move, and transitions from day to night with a simple switch of the shoes and accessories. These charming numbers are just a sample of LuLu*s summer-approved shifts, in lightweight, airy fabrics with cute cutouts and sleeveless silhouettes to keep you cool.

FashionSteal Her Style: True Blood’s Sookie Stackhouse

Now that you’ve had your first taste of True Blood in months, (or perhaps it’s still burning a hole in your DVR…don’t worry, you’re not alone!), here’s a little thirst-quencher to tide you through to next week’s episode. Take a page from the Sookie Stackhouse style archives, and get girly in pretty prints, dainty fabrics, and sweet sundresses. Then add simple, fuss-free accessories and feminine flats, because when you spend as much time running for your life as this Bon Temps beauty, high heels will only slow you down. And those vampires are fast!

BeautyHair How-To: Easy Glam Waves!

In addition to her stunning D&G dress that had me green with envy, Scarlett Johansson was rockin’ some glamorous, full body waves at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.
I love this look. It’s classic, it’s universally flattering, and it always seems to pair so well with easy breezy sundresses when the weather gets warmer.
I’m not so much of a pro when it comes to handling a curling iron, but this look doesn’t need to be perfect. The beauty of it lies in its loose and carefree nature.
That being said: there is some technique involved. That’s where the lovely Tiffany of MakeUpTiffany comes in handy! One of my fav YouTube beauty gals, Tiffany has an awesome Curls with Volume tutorial that you MUST watch!

Tiffany advises using a 1.5″ curling iron and a heat protectant spray of your choice. Take your time and make sure to heat the whole strand of hair evenly. Once done, gently shake out the curls and put on that glamorous strapless dress. Yowza! Now you’re ready to rock!

FashionNew Trend: Denim on Denim

Denim is like the comfort food of clothing. Rare is the girl without a pair of blue jeans in her closet, and no matter what sundress I wear, my blue denim crop jacket always seems like the perfect companion.

But denim on denim was a place I dared not venture. That is, until I saw the trend step stylishly on the Spring 2010 runway.

One trick to pulling off the trend is to mix up the washes and textures. Pair a distressed jean with a crisp jacket or a light, chambray top with dark blue skinnies.

I love the two looks pictured above from Ralph Lauren and D&G. For even more inspiration, check out the street stylin’ bloggers below found on!

How would you sport the trend?
