]]> Peplums, flounces or basques, whichever way you call them, we are loving the flattering look of a simple peplum waistline. We give thanks to Christian Dior who added a little slice of fabric to his dresses in the forties and fifties (sparking this modern trend) though Christian himself may have been inspired by the ancient Greek Peplos, a style of dress that draped about the waistline creating the illusion of a separate top and bottom.
 
 
Moschino was ahead of the game with their fall 2011 looks, which would all make amazing holiday dresses.
 
 
Fresh looks in the fall 2012 shows included this gorgeous pink peplum dress by Jason Wu and a classic white piece by Cushnie et Ochs.  
 
 
Blake Lively sporting a classic little black peplum dress.
 
 
Brighter look by Alexander McQueen and Vera Wang.

]]> Aside from all the amazing clothes, my other favorite part of seeing the various designer collections each season is checking out the beauty concepts debuted at each show. So far, one of my favorites has been Vera Wang. Cruising through Style.com for all the latest shows as they come out is one of the easiest ways to take a behind-the-scenes look at the newest and hottest beauty trends for the coming season. With a modern spin on the ever popular smokey eye, the team at Clé de Peau Beauté smudged beautiful shades of soft charcoal and what looks to be hints of camel and violet. It is ultra-feminine, yet still strong and powerful with the focus of the entire look being the eye. 

A soft peach lip compliments the deep and smokey eye without overpowering the look.

This is a look I will definitely be trying out this fall!
