W Magazine's Fashion On Film Festival

Fashion | 24 November 2010

I have always been an avid fashion editorial follower and have been rejoicing ever since they’ve become easier and easier to track down. However, in the mean time I have been waiting patiently for an online forum which features fashion films, not just editorials. Essentially, what I wanted was a Fashion Youtube, and I have found just that.

W Magazine has come to my rescue and granted my wish by dedicating an entire part of their site to Fashion On Film

After watching a few of the films featured on their site, I have fallen in love with the short fashion film. The film is Modelgeddon, uploaded to W Magazine for their Fashion On Film Festival which was guest curated by Hervé Mikaeloff. Modelgeddon was created for LOVE Magazine as a collaboration between director James Lima and Donatella Versace. The short film features supermodels Alessandra Ambrosio, Ana Beatriz Barros, Claudia Mason and Julie Ordon as actual superheros.

 Happy Fashion On Film watching!!

Recap of the Tony's

Celebrity, Fashion | 15 June 2010

Sunday night was a huge night!  It was the night of True Blood, Game 5 of NBA finals, and the Tony Awards!

There were plenty of showstoppers! Sean Hayes (aka Jack from Will & Grace) hosted the Awards show! He showed off his piano skills while giving us some laughs (dressed up as Annie!) and responded to the now imfamous Newsweek article with a deep kiss shared with Kristen Chenoweth.

All the big shows had their chance to perform, but ultimately Green Day’s “American Idiot” took over with a total of four performances (Green Day themself performed)!

The big winners of the night were the play “Red” with six wins including Best Play and “Memphis” (music from Bon Jovi’s David Bryan) with for four wins including Best Musical!

Hollywood took over the acting awards with Denzel Washiongton for Best Lead Actor in a Play, Catherine Zeta Jones for Best Actress in a Musical, and Scarlett Johansson for Best Featured Actress in a Play!

Last, but not least the fashion of the night! My pick for best dressed is Catherine Zeta Jones.  In her speech she compared herself to Cinderella and rightfully so.  She wore an ice blue Versace gown, which featured a beaded bodice.

What was your favorite moment of the show?  What’s your favorite musical?

Did you see these?
