Vogue Spain & Candice Swanepoel Channel the '90s

Fashion | 22 March 2013

by

Fashion flashbacks are not always pretty (parachute pants, anyone?), but in the April 2013 issue of Vogue Spain, über babe Candice Swanepoel takes us back; to a grungier time of too-hot crop tops and too-short cut-offs that defined an era. And, boy, does she make it look fabulous! Shot by Mariano Vivanco, this editorial modernizes the classic looks of the ’90s and shows us that grunge never looked so good.

Fashion Star: Actress Fan Bingbing's Flawless Style

Celebrity | 16 April 2012

by

Every once in awhile, a starlet comes onto the scene with a style that deserves an encore.
Allow me to introduce you to Chinese actress Fan Bingbing. She’s on this month’s cover of Vogue China and is already a huge star in her home country. She’s edging her way into American films and has already earned some notability as a style maven on American red carpets and aces it every. Single. Time.
So let’s get to know my new style crush, Fan Bingbing!
Fan Bingbing channeling her masculine and femnine side for Vogue. She looks amazing!
Most people would be overpowered by such a strong look, but Bingbing holds her own and looks so elegant.
From red carpet to the street, Bingbing can do no wrong. Yeah, I want those glasses.
Bingbing is a master of retro hair. Here she is channeling Lucille Ball in Louis Vuitton.
Bits of quirkiness (like this clutch with an attached heart) are what keep me so interested. She really looks like she has fun with her style.

Are you crushing? Check out more of her spread from this month’s issue of Vogue China!

Taylor Swift for Vogue

Celebrity | 27 January 2012

by

Who doesn’t love Taylor Swift? How can a girl that famous, that pretty, that rich, be so down-to-earth??? Well if you’re looking for ammo to build a case against her, the February issue of Vogue‘s got nothing for you. If, however, you’d like to ooo and ahh over a gorgeous collection of photos of Miss Swift looking ah-mazing, then you’re one lucky girl (or boy, I guess).

I’m SO in love with the hippie-boho-rocker feel of this shoot. Makes me want to go home and watch Almost Famous.

So, now I feel kind of shallow because all I really care about is the pretty pictures. The thing is, the interview is actually totally worth reading as well, so I really must recommend checking out the whole darn article.

*Kudos to Mario Testino*

Fashion Illustration by Esther Bayer

Art | 04 January 2012

The fashion-based illustrations of Canadian artist, Esther Bayer, are this week’s homage to the inevitable (right?) arrival of spring. Taking inspiration from vintage magazine covers and little trifles like “. . . the colors of two lovely soft pink carnations that were sitting on my kitchen table;” how could you not fall in love with the soft colors and keen brushstrokes that are available in print form at her Etsy shop.

Attention Readers! Do you draw or illustrate? We would love to see your work and possibly feature it on our blog! Email sienna@lulus.com with images or a link to your work!

Sarah Jessica Parker for Vogue

Fashion | 26 July 2011

by

Sarah Jessica Parker appears on the cover of Vogue for her sixth time on the 2011 August issue. Parker is simply stunning in Mario Testino‘s photoshoot.

Since the shoot took place in a domestic setting, she wanted husband Matthew Broderick and kids, son James Wilkie and twin daughters Tabitha and Loretta to be included in the shoot. This might be the most personal photoshoot SJP has done yet.

Sarah Jessica Parker dons fabulous pieces by designers Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler, Chanel and among many others.

According to Sarah, Carrie would be proud of the elegant designs she had the privlege of wearing; the only things missing were some Manolo Blahniks.

You go SJP!
